Marvin Harrison Jr is the best receiver in college football and it’s not close. Like what Stroud has done so far, but he does seem to have a lot of time to throw. Has a great offensive line.
This is the knock on Stroud. He's very accurate, but he hasn't really faced any adversity. He's got an all star cast of receivers and a great offensive line. I don't remember the numbers under pressure, but I don't think they're great. In this game, he looks great at moving through the pocket and making his throws.
The downside of having such a great receiver is that it’s hard to tell how much Stroud is going through progressions because Harrison is almost always open.
Yeah, maybe Stroud would be better against pressure if he had more experience facing it. He so rarely does that he hasn’t had solutions in the past, but that doesn’t mean he’s incapable.
He definitely went through his progressions on that TD. You could see him turning his body in the pocket, and then he directed Harrison to the open end zone. Was a great play by both guys. Let's not forget that Stroud was also supposed to have Smith Njigba as well. Also has other good WRs in Egbuka and tight end Stover. On top of that, last year he had Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson. That is the Stroud conundrum.
Exactly. It's just an unknown. Kind of reminds me of Marcus Mariota in college in a way. Mariota had all world numbers, but he literally never had to throw to a covered receiver, so you didn't really know how he'd do when he had to in the NFL.
I'm impressed with Stroud tonight. I hope to see Carter and company get more pressure on him so I can see how he responds.
Stroud is showing things he hasn’t all year. I wonder if he’s been playing too conservatively to save his body. Either way, I’m liking what I’m seeing.
Bryce and CJ could both be good qbs. That’s a great problem to have, especially if we don’t get the number 1 pick.
Scouting, video, combine, interviews really do matter. None of us have the ability to really assess any of this s!!t en todo, just a little reality check.
