Lost in all the Beltran-b****ing was Reddick's play off the wall to hold the runner at 1B, most likely saved a run.
He had an .806 OPS as recently as 6 months before this season started (2nd half of 2016), so he would've have to have gone from useful to "done" very quickly. He's also had half-seasons in this range before. Current OPS: .704. 1H 2014: .671, 1H 2015: .739, 2H 2012: .742, 2H 2014: .744 Granted, only one of those is worse than his current spot. But...one of those is worse. It's definitely plausible that he'll work his way out of this to become useful in the range of .800 again.
I was just thinking the same thing that maybe this could be his last year! I hope he can find a little more in that tank
Biggest? I doubt that. In fact, I am not even proposing one here. But come mid August maybe if things dont change with him.
At 6.1 now... 94 pitches, one run Not over yet, but nice game, Lance eta- well, BB then pulled. Hope the bully can hold it down. ***Lance's MLB-record for most consecutive home-starts with 3 Runs or fewer to begin career is still in tact.*** Get these last two outs, MF !!!
