My bad. It looks like a game 4 Keuchel would be on 3-days rest, but a game 5 McCullers would be on normal 4-days rest? Or at least, the Astros' series two years ago had an off day after game 2 and game 4.

Remember Glavine and Maddux being a foot off the outside corner but they were all called strikes? It was either take the pitch for a strike or hit a lunging weak grounder off the tip of the bat.

Usually they take the travel day off... unless its bizzaro world in 1998 and they took a day off between games 1, 2, AND 3! (allowing Kevin Brown to come back for game 3).

Keuchel would pitch game 1 and game 4 on 3 days rest
McCullers could pitch game 2, but game 5 would also be on 3 days rest if they follow the same off-day pattern.

In 2015, Astros used McHugh, Kazmir, Keuchel and McCullers... thanks to Keuchel pitching the wild card game.

If McCullers pitched game 2 at home, then there'd be a day off, 2 road games, another day off, and then game 5 at home, right? So that would be 4 days off for him? Or did they change the first round to 2-away, 3-home games, instead of 2-2-1? I know they had talked about it a while ago.

You're right... its still 2-2-1. Game 2 starter could pitch game 5 on normal rest if there's a day off between 4 and 5... but in 2004 (Astros NLDS), there was no day off between 4 and 5, and Clemens and Oswalt still pitched 4 out of the 5 games (both on 3 days rest to close the series).

They actually had a 2-3 version in 1997 (first year of wild card) that the Astros technically did have HFA vs the Braves.. but they were swept.

We currently have 4 players with a .900+ OPS.

A caller on Astros postgame said he couldn't find another team outside of the Ruth Yankees to match that feat.

The Red Machine never did. The '95 Indians finish with Murray at .891. Sean Berry finished with .895 in '98. Both players had limited ABs too.

Stros are on pace to finish 2nd All-Time in HRs in a season.

MLB also just finished its greatest month (June '17) of HRs ever.

Don't look now.... Altuve is only one point behind Judge for the Batting Title.

"Officially"" they only have 3 since Marwin is about 30 plate appearances shy of qualifying.

    Insufficient ABs?!!.... Stupid Hinch
    ------
    1997 Indians (in order)...

    Halle's first hubby
    Thome
    Manny
    Alomar -- .900+

Sandy only 480 PA, but closet non-Ruth I've seen. Yankees went extra hard with OPS 1100, 1000, then two 900s.
