Poor rudy gobert, not only does he get trashed by every American player and commentator and fined by the league repeatedly - he can't even get respect from his fellow French mutants.
In case people need it. The original French transcript and Victor vocalizing. Spoiler « Rudy (Gobert) a de très grosses chances de le gagner cette année. Ce serait mérité mais qu’il le gagne maintenant car après ce ne sera plus son tour. » google translate “Rudy (Gobert) has a very good chance of winning it this year. It would be deserved but he should earn it now because afterward it will no longer be his turn. » He said it with a smile at the end; a bit of ribbing at his old French comrade.
Wemby is going to get some players traded, get someone in the FO fired, and then force the team to trade him to the Lakers.
The sense of entitlement is amazing, esp when he couldn't get his team more than 14 wins. I'm honestly a lot happier with Amen. He is less talented than Wemby but has much better attitude and doesn't mind doing the dirty work to succeed.
Those 2 teams mentioned there with Wemby would be something....Knicks and Pelicans without losing much of their roster.
Ok list them and prove it. Most of the "Victor sux/"not generational" dorks (and to be fair there really aren't that many of those people left) rely very heavily on the games played prior to X mas when San Antonio was still running Point Sochan and Twin Towers lineups. Anyway people who watch the games realize this guy is an All NBA talent right now But, you don't need Zac Lowe or John Hollinger to prove that! Just watch the games it's obvious, the numbers aren't lying
Asking someone to prove that a top 10 player in this sport won’t lose 75% of their games is as silly as asking someone to prove that you will die if you don’t drink water. All NBA talent, as in top 10 player talent, = wins in this sport. Period. I watch the games, and I constantly see a young kid making boneheaded plays that detract from winning, while putting up stats.
We're going to see two players from a 7 to 10 seed make All-NBA teams so maybe Wembanyama making an All-NBA team ain't that bad.
So basically - you refuse to name the players that are better than Victor (other than the obvious onand you just keep repeating the Spurs record over and over again. Exciting! If he wasn't putting up elite #s, both traditional and advanced, hadn't vastly improved his efficiency since Dec 25, wasn't the best defender in the league right now, maybe this Statler & Waldorf schtick would be something but... man i feel sorry for folks like you who just can't enjoy something remarkable Too bad you're not or even worse, you are and this what your takeaway is - that's some great Santini ****
Basically, I’m letting you know it’s a waste of time to list players that are better because it’s generally known that in this sport one impactful player makes a hell of a difference as far as winning games, no matter who else is on the team, especially a 2 way big. That doesn’t change because you are head in heels over this rookie. If you have an elite player in this league your team is not going to lose like 75% of the games with him on the court. How bout you list examples of guys considered a top 10 player in a season and their teams barely won games with them on the court? You’re the one trying to explain the anomaly. Teams with top players win games in this sport, period. As others have noted, we see players put up numbers on garbage teams all the time. And FYI, 21 ppg on 16 shots is not great. A big shooting his %’s is not great (basic or advanced metrics). 3.5 assists is not great. Neither is 1 steal a night. How have you concluded I don’t enjoy watching him play? Because I don’t think he’s a top 10 player or playing remarkable ball? 21/10 on lots of shots and avg %’s is remarkable? Losing most of your games is remarkable?
It's not just the counting the stats with Victor. Mother****er, look at the goddam highlights from last night. I posted them right after the game. It's right there. He took over the game and beat the Nets in OT. Game winning shots. Game winning blocks. It's all right there. Sure, the nets suck, but it's not just the traditional and advanced stats that say he's elite, watch the games broseph. BUt oh, since you mentioned it - the guy who's averaging 22-10-5-4 sicne Dec 26th on 49-36-82 shooting in just 28 minutes a night - this line, to you "is not great" Name a single player who's had per minute (or even per game?) averages that meet or exceed those marks this year- or honestly ever over a 35 game stretch. I frankly doubt there's been one, maybe Giannis has done it for a sustained stretch, but probably by playing 40 plus minutes a game. Oh, and PS this is some good ****....saving the best for last somebody who posted those numbers as a center during his MVP season would like a word. Spoiler He thinks you're an idiot.
