I am very happy on the improvement of offense by Gomez, i am not very happy with his defense, eventough i believe the game was decided in the first inning thanks to the great throw by him and great catch and tag by Conger. Actually, last night the 2 heroes are McGnificent and Conger, but the turn around play was the out at home plate in the first and and then Rasmus homer.
Gomez is slashing .314/.359/.486 in his last 9 games. He has had a few line outs as well. It was only a matter of time before he started getting results. Over those 9 games, our offense has actually been good. We've averaged 6 runs per game.
That is much better. With the resurgence of him and Lowrie, Our lineup looks like a doozie! Especially if you get a production every now and again from either Rasmus/Valbuena/Conger. A potent lineup. We really need to get Kazmir and Neshek back on track, and I think we can do something this year in the playoffs. BTW, thank you Angels.

Adding Springer to the lineup is a quick reminder of how this team looks with him versus without him. Astros were one of the hottest if not hottest teams playing before he got hurt. ESPN and just about everyone out there predicted the Astros would spiral out of 1st place when Springer got injured. HA!
I wonder what's the MLB record. The Astros have to be close. Gonzo should get there and maybe lowrie if he gets hot these last 3 weeks.
11, per an earlier post in this thread or another thread. We have a decent chance to reach 13 with Marwin, Lowrie, & Marisnick within reach.
This is what i don't like about Hinch, why is Rasmus not playing tonight? He hit a homer last night, plus great defense, and today, he is not starting against a right handed pitcher. Lefties are hitting almost .300 against Earvin Santana
the other Mc looked very good in that first inning. Dozier had NO CHANCE, and Sano was lost in the at bat. Mauer is only hitting .270, but the dude is a professional hitter, great strike zone knowledge
