Just got a chance to get back in here. Somebody raised the question of why we didn't think to have reporters questions played over the sound system -- truth is, we actually did try to do that, but the boom mics we got for the ocassion didn't do the job. It had something to do with the patch to our sound system not working right -- we couldn't get the table mics and the reporter mics to work together. If there's a next time for something like this, though, we'll get it right. Everything else pretty much worked, though. Turnout was fantastic. Tim
Just for you, Faos, next time we'll drop the sign, concentrate really hard, and try to get our sales message out with crafty Jedi mind tricks. I'll be honest -- I hope you weren't the only one who noticed. We want to sell some freaking tickets. I don't really see the point when people say they want to see sellouts then complain when they see any message geared to selling tickets. You want sellouts. We want sellouts. So we got to sell. No shame in that -- let's just all get after it. We got 17 sellouts last year, which isn't bad. But we'd like to get a lot more. Tim
Very cool, Tim. The only other glitch I thought was the parking- the Toyota Center Parking Garage said "No Event Today" (No Event?! We just got the 2-time reigning scoring champ!) but there were enough lots in the vicinity that it wasn't too bad. So when we figure out how to parlay Taylor, Weatherspoon, Piatkowski, and everyone else not named Yao or TMac into Shaq, it'll be better? Good.
