Can Bregman get to .300 by the end of the season? He's at .281 right now with 430 ABs with 36 games left. Assuming he gets 4 ABs/game, he'll need to average .362 from here on out to do it. He's hitting .442 so far in August. We shall see.
Per the last twitter comment from Mark Berman, this isn't good with respect to Correa... the Astros aren't winning a championship without a healthy Correa... i hope like hell he is healthy come playoff time though
"I am mother****ing ********ing ******* cunthappy son of a w**** ****ing pissed off about this." -- AJ Hinch (paraphrased)
It will be harder, but they are capable of winning the World Series without Correa. Let’s hold our collective breathes and see what happens.
They've been working Tucker at 1B, so let's assume CC is out: 3: Tucker (so far, so good...he can catch things thrown to him, and pick a grounder too, mostly) 4: Altuve 5: Yuli 6: Bregman Horrible IF defense but what else can you do? Better ideas?
No idea if Carlos' discomfort has anything to do with stretching or not. Just want to muse about stretching. Stretching confounds me. I've done all sorts of sports over the years ranging from baseball and basketball and volleyball to taekwondo and kendo and taiko drumming (the taiko was the most strenuous, btw). Never had a consistent stretching routine between any of them, even though most of the routines were basically similar. Especially hamstring stretches. Every group seems to have a different way they do it. Sometimes, they're quite adamant that the way people taught me to stretch in the past is downright harmful. I can believe it, and at the same time, I can't confirm that they have superior techniques. I also can't automatically assume that a professional sports team with professional trainers has worked all of this out. Somebody give me a highly credible source on how to properly stretch...if that's possible. I could use it, because there's an unlimited amount of cheap opinions on the matter out there. Otherwise, I just stick with light warmups using the motions I'll use for what I'll be doing more intensely later, and that seems to work well enough.
I can’t believe any of those guys were dumber than ken Giles. I’m not hating bc he sucked at the end of his time here, I’m pointing out objective facts. Sun rises in the east, sets in the west and Ken Giles is a borderline ruhtard
That looks like a winner to me if Correa is out. Don’t care what the specialists say. Even with a clean bill of health I’d sit him for 10 days and do this experiment.
That’s a good point. Tim Redding might be the dumbest mother ****er to ever don a uniform of any kind. I’m ashamed I forgot about him. Wags is Mensa compared to Giles/Redding.
They've been winning for most of the year without Correa and against harder teams. It's definitely possible to go all the way without him if everyone else is healthy. Sucks, since his defense is a big shot in the arm to the team, and his bat has been lively lately. But it's time to start planning for how to do it without him. At least Diaz is healthy......hold on, I've been out for a few days so let me check before I finish this sentence just in case......oh for ****'s sake!
