I don't know how anyone can be mad at the moment. I guarantee not one, including myself, said we'd be in first place in August. Not to mention one of our best players has been shelved for quite some time. I know it's frustrating at times, but just try to enjoy this ride of what seemed like impossible. Come on, let's get a run here...
I don't get this at all, seriously when was the last time you watched the Astros and said damn this team is awesome? Sure we are in first but it sure seems like the talent is closer to last. Smoke and mirrors?
Springer being injured has really hurt the team no doubt, but now the bullpen is really worrisome which Springer can't help. Still not quit a complete team. No doubt the team is much improved after being laughing stocks the past several years. Like I've said recently, the starting pitching is contender status. The hitting and bullpen are not quit there though. Springer can help when he comes back with the hitting but the lineup overall still has some big holes with guys like Gattis, Valbuena and Carter getting playing time.
When they swept the royals? Or when they swept the Angels? Or the 4 game sweep of the Blue Jays? Was that really a question?
So frustrating to not be able to put the Tigers away...they have won only a single series (home or road) since the All Star Break.
You're right, this team is World Series bound. Don't know what I was thinking. I'll let ya get back to your rainbows and butterflies.
I don't think anyone ever said they were World Series bound. An argument can be made that they're underachieving, and perhaps even stronger argument that they aren't at an elite level. But your saying their talent is close to last is a ridiculous statement.
No I said it just seemed that way with their play as of late. So they are in first and you think they are underachieving?
Mr conquistador Remember when I said to use valbuena in the 7th to play 3b? Well your Hinch did not and Marwin made an error that cost us the lead? Now what do you think? Should we continue to watch games without looking at moves that Hinch should make to allow us to win?
Oh whoops meant to say overachieve. Though I suppose at times this season expectations have changed and some would have argued they're underachieving. Anyways, didn't get the 'as late' implication, my mistake.
