We didn’t play it well enough. We didn't play the situation well enough to execute the way we wanted to execute, so it didn't work." When asked if it was by design to play so far back, Crennel replied: “Not exactly.” "We can try to get our hands on the balls,” Crennel said. “Guys have to break quicker, they have to have better transition and I think if some of those things occur, going down the road we'll get our hands on the balls. "Everything happens in the NFL. You cannot say that there's something that doesn't happen. Whatever happened, happened, and there's nothing I can do about it now. The only thing I can do about it is try to get the guys in the right frame of mind to try to win this next game. It's a home game and it's one we need to win. It's a division game, so we've put everything we can into trying to win this next one." It was a particularly costly game for cornerback Aaron Colvin. The Texans terminated his $34 million contract even though he's still due $7.5 million guaranteed this year after he allowed 8 of 9 completions for 117 yards and two touchdowns with the only incompletion coming on a dropped pass. Was thought given to benching Colvin due to his ineffectiveness? "I think sometimes you can do that,” Crennel said. “It depends on who you have behind him and what changes that you have to make to make that change. Sometimes if it's a one-person change, it's easier to do than if you have to move two or three people – that makes it a lot tougher. But you have to look at all that in making that decision."
that defensive strategy on the final play was the dumbest thing i've ever seen. They need 7 yards to be in field goal range......so play 30 yards off of that.
