Well......... I don't think that the Texans off season is a real surprise to anyone paying attention to the Texans franchise.

It wasn't TERRIBLE........ It wasn't good..... it was mediocre.

    They should miss the playoffs.

Tank and get some high picks.

Then these projects this year may be ready.

I see where they are going there.

I don't think that will happen, but I wouldn't be shocked and would never put money down on this coaching staff.

If I had to make a bet I would bet against them making the playoffs. I think they will make it again but I would definitely not bet on them.

They didn't go above and beyond to improve and it shocks me. Every team gets to draft players. When you have a ton of cap room and a QB on his rookie scale, you need to use FA to your advantage.

Right now their secondary is probably worse than it was to end the season last year as hard as that is to believe. The offensive line probably/might be better. Plus another year of age on guys like JJ and JJo...

The lack of urgency to maximize this window is baffling to me. They're betting a whole lot of this season on grade B or lower FAs and the rapid development of several draft picks who are most likely a year away from being serious contributors.

Who knows, but if BOB thinks his seat is hot now with the fans/media, just wait and see what happens if they miss the playoffs.

I've predicted the Texans will win the division since the beginning of free agency. I'm a lil shaky but I'm still sticking to that prediction.

Clowney may hold out, OL is as bad as ever, aging in some spots, super young in others, one of the toughest schedule.

Going to be a challenging year.

No. They would use those high 1st round picks to draft players with 3rd and 4th round grades.

The vast majority of teams that spent in free agency were not good last year. That's generally the case. In fact, the team everyone assumes the Texans are now chasing in the division, had more space and didn't spend wildly, either.

NFL free agency has been around a long time. The overwhelming proof is that big-ticket free agents flop far more often than excel.

I'm not asking for big ticket free agents. The Texans basically did nothing in free agency. Even signing a running back that could be competent would have been something.

It bugged me they didn't go after some value OL. They went with damaged goods in Kalil and Seantrel.

This off-season the Texans had more cap space and more draft picks than they had the previous year. Yet, I was more excited about the season then (Reid, Matthieu, return of Watt and Watson from injury) than I am now.

I expect the Texans to have a top 15 draft pick next year. They could finish last in this division.

They aren't a playoff team in the AFC.

I would take Chiefs, Chargers, Ravens, Steelers, Browns, Patriots, and Colts over the Texans.
