So much cap being spent on the offensive skill players with Watson and Tunsil still to go. Nothing is going to be left for a defense that was terrible last year and lost Reader and JJo. We’d better see a very heavy defensive draft class.
I agree. They need a consistent pass rush like crazy. I think the young guys will improve, and Weavers scheme will help out the defense.
Lol it depends on who all can stay healthy. Weapons are all over the field. Then after that we need a strategy with in game adjustments that put these healthy players in positions that exploit their strengths moreso than their weaknesses.
Omenihu taking a step forward would be huge for the defense. It amazes me that our starting DE (Blackson) didn’t account for a single sack and only 1 QB hit.
It's almost like they're trolling a certain "GM". I think one of my fave quotes from Dhop was him saying Omenihu and Fuller will make probowls. If fuller can stay healthy for the 1st 10 games when the voting is done he can get that goal, then he'll miss the last 5 and rest the final game

It's addition by subtraction with JJo. He was about the fifth best corner on the roster by the end of the year. I agree we need heavy D. We need pass rush as our main theme of the draft. Without a pass rush, this D is doomed. With it, we can be top ten.
I also liked this line at the end: "The Texans aren’t in win-now mode so much as O’Brien is in I’m gonna get fired later anyway mode."
can someone explain why we gave so much money to that safety from the browns? is he any good? never heard of him...
Not $7M per year good. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-2020-nfl-free-agency-live-analysis-free-agent-tracker HOUSTON TEXANS SIGN FORMER BROWNS DEFENSIVE BACK ERIC MURRAY Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Texans are signing former Browns defensive back Eric Murray to a three-year deal worth up to $20.25 million. Bill O’Brien and the Houston Texans continue to make head-scratching moves, the latest of which was this Murray deal. After playing primarily safety through the first three seasons of his career, Murray made the switch to slot cornerback for the Browns in 2019, playing 272 of his 360 defensive snaps there. He managed just a 60.9 coverage grade on the season in that role, following a 66.9 coverage grade in 2018 and a 46.7 mark the year prior in 2017. Coverage is the biggest need on this Texans’ team, but throwing nearly $7 million a year at players like Murray doesn’t seem all that likely to fix their issues.
Texans legend Dan Orlovsky: The Dolphins, Patriots & Raiders should call the Houston Texans and see if they can pry Deshaun Watson away from them. I know it sounds crazy but maybe one of those teams can offer a number of picks this year or next year and get Deshaun Watson out of Houston.
"Was it in the best interest of the team when O'brien asked for an extension" Orlovsky. Funny quote from him
