I don't think 6 or 7 wins gets it done. I believe it will take consecutive 2-14 or 3-13 seasons with all of the stars healthy for Cal to even consider dumping Bob the Great. Maybe two consecutive losing seasons will start to hurt Cal in his pocketbook? I think the team will digress, especially with the rise of the Titans, but not enough for any big changes to happen anytime soon.

Both DC and DB coach spots seemed like a great chance to bring someone new in. Why would assistants bring anything majorly different? Same with OC, but can't even get into that one.

Dont understand this at all. Cunningham, McKinney, and Reid are the only players on defense above replacement level. Reader is gone and Watt you can’t count on.

Just like losing Jackson and Mathieu last year Bob apparently wants to make a bad defense even worse.

BoB has a proven system, do not bring in people who could potentially challenge you and/or take credit for improvements. Instead, opt for yes men that have worked for you for a while, promote them so they’re grateful, and then fire their a$$ when it’s scapegoat season.

I mean if you’re Tim Kelly, you might as well go ahead and box your stuff up (if you were dumb enough to unbox to begin with).

Roby sees O'Brien as the GM and thinks he can take advantage, all there is to it. O'Brien will overpay him and give him a bunch of guaranteed money, book it.

Having just moved from Colorado back home to Texas I can relate to its probably snowing in Denver comment. I wouldn't mind resigning Roby if we can get him at a reasonable cost. Next to Reid he was our best play-maker in the secondary.

    Unlike every other NFL coach...

It's got to be hard for a non-coach to continually come up with BS cliches to feed the media. Well, if Roby wants a big bag from BoB, kissing BoB's ass is the proven way to get it.

I still don't see the Texans going 14 AAV for Roby, which is what I'm guessing he wants.

He came here on a 10 million dollar, 1 year 'prove it' deal. He mostly proved the Texans need corners. You think he's going to settle for a multi year at or less than that? I don't. 5 years seem to be what a lot of the top flight CB deals are for. Is 60/5, 35-40 guaranteed 'reasonable'? Because I don't know if that'll be enough.

    https://overthecap.com/position/cornerback/

Looking at the CB contract numbers in the above link, I think that's a reasonable offer. It might not get it done, but depending on BOB's negotiating skills and who else is interested he may decide to stay. Just guessing, but I think it will be in the $13-$13.5M/yr range. If we could do that for 4 years and do your range of guaranteed, I think that's a win/win. I'll caveat all of this with, I'm not looking at the rest of cap or balancing this signing against other needs.

Is Storm Report the same guy as @patdstat on Twitter? Because that guy is usually pretty good

At least he promptly corrected his error. Better than many in media.

The content and timing of Storm Report posts are interesting to say the least. Correcting the error is fine but feels to me like damage control. Maybe the guy has legit sources. Maybe he does not.

Everybody that wants the Texans to win a Super Bowl now just think about the chiefs and how it took them 50 years to win it.

    Texans got time.
