I don't think we're winning in Philly. I'd be pleasantly surprised if we do. This Philly game is a good playoff tuneup. Lose there, and it's doubtful wellw win a game in the playoffs, anyways.
As far as I'm concerned, this *is* a playoff game. I expect nothing and hope to be pleasantly surprised.
It will be a tough game but the Rams d has been figured out. Just double Donald and leave it to the rest of their D line to do the damage.
This is one of those hindsight things ppl would be mad about either way. Jets raced up to the line and called a quick play to run while we were still getting set. We ended up stopping them somehow on 4th and 1 but BOB had already called a TO because we were not ready. They then converted on 4th an 1 after that. Everyone is mad he took the TO because we had stopped them but as a coach he saw his team wasn't ready and called the TO so they could get a play together and stop them. If the Jets had converted and he called a TO no one would have complained. Just classic revisionist crap.
This stat is funny to me.. Zach Fulton allowed 3, 2nd most on the team... um why not just put the name of the person who allowed the most?
I'd be curious to see how many games Watson has caused the most QB pressures and sacks. The more causal fans will always blame sacks on the O line, but I'd bet that most games Watson causes the most pressures and sacks due to indecision (holding on to the ball too long) or misreading the defense. When he fixes those flaws in his game, the sky is the limit.
Look at the routes being ran the majority of the time Watson is "holding" on to the ball. Two man routes(Carter is typically used as a decoy and behind the LOS against zone coverage, ala man waiting for that dumpoff). As soon as they put him in empty sets, the ball seemed to come out much quicker. The coaching staff has zero confidence in the OL and that will hold the team back in the playoffs when they play a more high scoring team like the Chargers or Chiefs. Lets watch the Chiefs offense. The majority of the time, there are 4 men running routes with a RB busting out of the pocket for a dump off making it 5 men. The Chiefs concept isn't difficult and I really hope BoB watches that 4th quarter again in which the Texans aired it out and made it look easy. Having Fuller sure would help though.
I'm willing to be patient with him, he's shown that he's the kind of person that is willing to put in the work to improve so I think it's just a matter of getting enough experience to where he won't be so easily fooled by defenses. Even despite his inexperience showing he can still do some pretty awesome things with the football and he's not throwing interceptions anymore. That's pretty huge.
Watch the tape. Watson is not getting good protection albeit it being Max protection. He has his moments as does every QB, but OB this morning mapped it out. He called out the Offensive Line, and he called out the play calling which has been bad as well. Watson was one of the best against the blitz in college running Clemson's air it out scheme. There is a great story talking about how he dissected an exotic blitz his first game as a freshmen and executed for a touchdown. There is much more to what is going on. Watson does need to learn how to throw the ball away in the red zone, but he is very capable. See last year's Seattle game. Look how many guys are running routes.... The OL this year is MUCH MUCH worse, and BoB's play calling is showing that.
