This is what drives me crazy, hell Darnell was rolling out or getting out of the pocket before it totally collapsed. We should be running, more roll outs off play action, which we set up with the running game.

thats what I dont like the passer rating system, that system, takes out points if you throw the ball away because you are going to get sacked and loss yards, just because it counts as an incomplete pass, and lower the completion pct.

but if the QB gets sacked, then the completion pct doesnt move, and he still can have a better rating.

But so many times its much better to throw it away, then taking the sack.

In the last 3 weeks Watson has a QB rating of 102, 99, and 134. If that's the league catching up to him then it's pretty damn good.

Man we surely knows how to make things harder than what they need to be.
    1. Bill O'Brien calling a timeout in which kept the Jets drive alive. Result TD Jets and the lead.
    2. After we took back the lead with that beautiful drive. Defense held, we got the ball back. So Obrien decided to only play for the FG. I'm if we get a first down. That freaking game.
    3. RAC with this soft zone crap and he continues to play his corners 7-10 yards no matter the situation. And he refuse to bring the house on this Rookie

But hey we came out victorious and that's all that matters.

if anything, more rollouts in the RZ. that way Deshaun has to throw it away should the end not take the bait and is breathing on Deshaun or there is open space, or a TE running across. You can't go wrong. It's safer too for Deshaun's body.

Watson seems to have gotten rid of the turnover bug.

Might be time to let him throw a bit more.

Problem was our running game was abysmal yesterday, 14 yards on 12 carries. But BoB not countering one time with a RB screen, roll out, etc...is simply amazing.

I criticize B'oB a lot too, but I totally think running the ball 3 times and kicking the field goal was the right call. Doing that you knew the Jets were only going to have ~55 seconds of clock left with no timeouts, and they would need to go the full stretch of the field. Sure the defense had been struggling to stop them on certain drives in the game, but the vast majority of the time the Jets moved the ball on the Texans yesterday were on long, sustained drives because they really don't have any homerun hitting type threats, for the most part. Our defense is good, despite some mental errors on occasion, so I think it was the right thing to do to trust them there and not risk Deshawn throwing a pick or getting sacked/fumbling. Plus, if you try to throw for that first down and fail, then you give the Jets the ball back with 2 timeouts and probably a 1:30 or more left on the clock. Much more of a shot of them getting down the field.

+1. We had the ball around the 20 yard line. Let the offense win it, at worse kick a FG and we still have more than a FG lead. If Brady was in-command, he would of override BOB's style.

Last year, Eagles and Patriots didn't exactly smoke their opponents last the 4 games of the season. Seriously, this team can get to the Super Bowl with or without BOB. In the playoffs, we are going to see Watson run and throw. No team are going to prepare for the firepower. If we get 1st round bye, we are going to Super Bowl.

Today only, Go Cowboys!!! Make it happen Texans vs. Cowboys Super Bowl.

He's fine when he throws he ball, hence his stats are good.

But it's when he doesn't throw the ball is when he hurts the team. I'd venture to say the majority of the sacks in the last two weeks are on Watson.

He's got to have that internal clock and get rid of it. Yes, his rating may go down, but he wouldn't be taking unnecessary hits or sacks.

There's no way we beat a team in the playoffs unless he stops taking sacks.

He's a great player, but it should be obvious to fans that he's causing many of his sacks and it's hurting the team.

I think he's still a bit overconfident in his ability to escape sacks. He should just throw a lot of those away. Plus it raises injury risk

Sure, he's been doing that his entire football career, has to learn what he can't get away with in the NFL.

Deshaun is good enough to be a pure pocket passer. He should try to become that type of player with the running ability as an added bonus when they really need him to do it.

We have one screen, the WR screen, which we run until it gets stops for zero yards and then we run it again. KC has so many unique screens and creative ways to get the ball into the hands of its play makers.

Exactly correct. BoB's problem is not a lack of aggressiveness - it's that he never has any clue what is the right time to be conservative or aggressive or when to use timeouts or hurry up or not hurry up, etc. He finally got it right here. The Texans need to play *smart* rather than just being aggressive for the sake of it.

Over half of Mahomes yards thursday night were on screens....

RB Screens, TE screens, and WR Screens.

Teams get scared to blitz them and when they run screens as it leads to big plays.

BoB needs to start giving Watson audible ability to go to RB screens.

RB screens against Zero Blitzes are touchdowns...

The rating doesn't mean diddly if it means not taking any chances and only making safe throws, to keep a higher rating. I'd rather see more touchdowns and a lower rating. How many times did we settle for a punt or field goal from playing safe and being afraid to throw or holding it too long and either getting sacked or coming up short. Nothing worse than a baby pass short of the marker or seeing the QB take yet another sack by simply too much indecision.
