Cowher just said it perfectly. Jump ball situation, knock it down.

GQ was the only one near the ball. It's okay to catch it.

haha even the cbs guys are saying quinn should have caught the ball. if it's a jumpball you knock it down but if it comes directly into your hands with jags surrounding you you CATCH THE DAMN BALL.

Cowher and Sharpe both said Quin should've just caught that ball. Cowher said it should be knocked down if there are a lot of people around you and a chance they could catch it, but if you're alone like that, just catch the damn ball. Sharpe added you don't knock it backwards into a herd of opposing players you know are coming at you.

All-in-all, it's just a bad luck play, but this team seems to have "bad luck" riding them all year.

It's way too early, since there could quite possibly be a lockout postponing free agency and draft to see when it will happen. Not to mention no idea how a lockout or new CBA will affect underclassmen declaring or not declaring for the draft.

How can you not blame Quin? He performed the worst act out of all the possibilities out there. What a crappy way to lose. Damn.

Yeah, probably poor coaching as it seems Quin was dead set on knocking it down from the get go. He was probably thinking "OK hail mary, just knock it down."

After all, it's been burned into his head since he was a kid watching ESPN Primetime on Sundays by Chris Berman.

    "Whadaya do Tommy??"
    "Ya knock it down!!"

Of course, had he tried to catch it and it bounces up off of his hands or chest into the Jags' hands you might be saying he should have knocked it down. Knock it down is a safe play, you just don't expect it to go as straight out as it did. Gus or Tasker described it like a volleyball player going up to spike it. That's right, he just missed timed his hit and it went more out than down.

Oh man. I just burst out into laughter for like five minutes straight after that play.

I would blame Dreesen first. The team was in position to win AGAIN.

Tough loss but there is plenty of blame to go around. Starts with Dressen for fumbling the ball. Then Antonio Smith for the offside penalty which made the hail-mary easier.

It was a team loss... in every sense of the word.

Players, coaching, offense, and defense... and the gods. All of them added up to lead the Texans to a loss today.

At this point I'd be more surprised if we finished without a losing record than with.

True. But when it matter most in the 4th quarter, Joel Dreessen and Antonio Smith made crucial mistakes.
