People who are mad about this pick are just stupid, he is the best player by far and every team knows it... not to mention any other pick would have been a compete waste of this opportunity.

 

trades require two to tangle. maybe no one was offering anything worth considering.

 

I'm pretty sure you can still get a decent QB with a trade or thru free agency...

Texans are not your typical rebuilding team... They have a lot of good players on that team.

Pretty much.

If they did not get Clowney then anything other than trading down would have been a HUGE mistake.

SURE Clowney can be a bust, but only because people expect SO much of him.

You don't think they tried their hardest? Its pretty obvious they were trying to trade all the way up to the last minute, but they weren't getting the right offer and if you don't get a good enough offer you don't trade just to trade.

the interviews are always cringe-worthy.

 

i'm excited about the pick. Now we need a safety, a tackle, a corner and you know a parcells understudy has to have his eyes on some LBs.

 

If they trade down, it's going to be during the draft - if and only if the player they want is available at whatever spot they are trading to. For example, if they are looking to trade with Atlanta, they will only do it if whoever they want is available at #6. It would be silly to trade down and then not get the guy you want.

 

Texans held that close to the chest.

Clowney didn't even know until 2 minutes prior.
