I usually see the opposite around here. Coaches get credit for the hits and Rick gets blamed for the misses. Wade Phillips got credit for JJ Watt. I know for a fact that Keyshawn Martin was a Joe Marciano pick. Kubes had asked him to scout WRs and DBs that he thought could be NFL return men and would go in the mid-rounds and Keyshawn was at the top of his list. I've always been under the impression that the coaches pick who's drafted and who's on the roster. That the coaches might specify to Rick what kind of player they're looking for at each position and that Rick and the scouts bring players back to the coaches that fit the bill. Then the coach makes the final decision on who gets drafted, who they sign in FA, and who makes the roster in camp. Rick and the scouts certainly have input and may even fight for certain guys, and Rick and OB may work together on a common philosophy, but it's ultimately the coach who has final say. Even if Rick is making bad decisions, OB is signing off on them. Which is why I've said that simply firing Rick isn't sufficient. If you hate the last 2 drafts then you have to get rid of OB and the coaching staff too because they're just as/if not more culpable. Simply getting rid of Rick isn't going to suddenly make everything better.
If you're thinking fantasy, you might be better off with Mumphrey, unfortunately http://heavy.com/sports/2015/10/jae...-shorts-injury-week-7-texans-wr-rankings-dfs/
Some are predicting a 6-10 to 8-8 record in which will net you a 1st round draft pick ranging from 7-16. It's not a guarantee Rick will be fired if we have a losing season.
Unofficial Depth Chart against the Dolphins http://www.houstontexans.com/news/a...ami-game/47834da8-4195-43ba-a30f-84b9d8b05779
Wow, everybody at ESPN is picking the Dolphins http://espn.go.com/nfl/picks Even the Jags got some votes against the Bills.
No surprise after Campbell's coming out party against the crappy Titans. Still our defense needs to stop being so porous if we're to have a chance. Would love to prove the ESPN homers wrong, just not sure about our chances.

Specifically who though? It's nice to say "a QB", but if there isn't a QB worth picking at the top, or one that you would want that you'd have to have an early draft slot to get then what difference does it make? When we're talking about drafting the same guy at 1, 10, or 20...who cares?
I'd like to see ben jones at LG and have newton move to center, just to say newton has played all positions in this line.
