This dolphins team is not the same team that lost to the Jags in week 2. That defense has talent on every level. Suh, Wake, Mitchell up front. Jenkins in the middle. Jones playing safety. If last week was any indication, they are finally putting it together. The Texans will need a heavy dose of Foster catching the ball out of the backfield to pull this one out. If only they had a big TE pass threat ::cough::cough::Jared Cook::cough::cough
If you still get the pick you are looking for, what difference does it make? I'd take making the playoffs and getting the player the team wants over another 2-14 season and having to make the decision of either reaching on a QB unworthy of the top pick or going in another direction in the first round.
What difference does it make? It's pretty clear that he doesn't do very much, BOB is running the show for the most part and he's the one that gets say over the picks just like Kubiak and Wade before him. I know Rick Smith is a fun scapegoat, but I just don't see how people can say he does nothing and then blame him for everything it just doesn't make sense. Would it be nice to have a Jeff Luhnow or a Daryl Morey type GM for the Texans? Of course, but do you know of any of them in the NFL or any that are up and coming? Change for the sake of change is foolish....not to mention those brain surgeons who blame McNair for the team not being a perennial powerhouse would just whine about whoever he picked to replace McNair.
Not the same as the NBA. The seahawks went 7-9, 7-9, then 11-4. You can have a mediocre record without tanking and still be getting better.
If the team fires Rick Smith and the team still plays mediocre, then who do you blame? When a team has as much talent as this (especially on defense) but are committing stupid penalties and are playing uninspired; it seems very weird to blame the GM.
Same. Seems obvious, but the mediocre teams seem to turn it around a lot faster than the bottom dwellers. IMO, making the playoffs this year would be MUCH better for the franchise as a whole going forward than going 2-14. And tanking just isn't really a thing in the NFL, unless their is an Andrew Luck type player available.
This is the exact type of game the Texans have built their foundation of losing on. Let's see if they can break the mould and actually give us hope for a meaningful season
I can not understand why fans want to see losing football. Tanking is a losers mentality. I understand some want a higher draft pick but you still address your need at every level in the draf.. In this year's draft there will be a few solid options at QB. My thing is why can't some hope for the best around here and that's for a winning product on Sunday. On to the game, the Dolphins hasn't beaten the Texans in a long time. I don't see that changing this Sunday either. The Texans will win this game 31-23.
