Don't forget the 2010 7-9 Seahawks that made it to the Playoffs. Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor, Russell Okung, Golden Tate, all rookies. Ask them how much that experience improved them as players. Of course in the following draft they picked up Sherman, KJ Wright, Byron Maxwell, and Malcolm Smith.
but they had their franchise QB..all they needed was pieces surrounding him and for him to have a couple of years of nfl experience.. guess what they are now..contenders for the title for the foreseeable future..You do not win Superbowls with backup QBs from other teams or 5th round draft picks..QBs and RBs in the 1st 2 rounds win you Superbowls..its very simple..If this team keeps doing the same **** over and over again..look up the definition of insanity..
This is so silly. Where does this come from? If we win the division, we would most likely HOST the jets, chiefs or steelers - none of which are exactly the 72 Dolphins. You really think we'd have no shot whatsoever at home against any of these 3 teams? Sure, we will get killed in NE in the 2nd round. But what if it's not NE? What if it's Cincinnati instead? The tanking stuff is so silly. Should every team in the league not currently favored to go to the Superbowl just start tanking? And who is this can't-miss, once-in-a-lifetime college QB that we're tanking for?
Hopkins, Kevin Johnson, Clowney, McKinney, and Covington are all very young too. Maybe they turn the corner after this season.
My point is just a year ago, they were a below 500 team. After winning 10+ games the season before. So what if they are 8-8 next year? Let's look at all the teams with franchise QBs that are subpar right now: Chargers Bears Lions Giants Dolphins Falcons Saints The Texans are better than all those teams right now.
Look at the top records in the league right now and how they acquired their qbs Carolina 13-0 - #1 overall pick Pats 11-2 - 6th round pick Cardinals 11-2 - traded for a 6th round pick Bengals 10-3 - 2nd round pick Broncos 10-3 - free agent (unless you wanna count osweiler then 2nd round pick) Packers 9-4 - late first round pick Seahawks 8-5 - 3rd round pick Vikings 8-5 - 2nd round pick Chiefs 8-5 - traded for a second round pick Jets 8-5 - traded for a 6th round pick Steelers 8-5 - 11th pick so of the 11 teams with winning records you have one #1 overall pick, one #11 pick and one late first round pick...the rest are 2nd/3rd rounders or trades....so why would you prefer 6-10 over 9-7 and the playoffs again?
The best QB in last year's draft wasn't even taken until the 2nd round. Remind me of why we should tank again?
higher the draft picks..usually higher the quality of the players..in each round..i think that's how it works..you can miss out on a franchise player by 1 pick..So higher the better..Unless u guys think that Rick Smith will pull his head out of his ass and make this team a contender through free agency or any draft picks after the first 2 rounds.. i wouldn't count on it....
Yep, knew Luck was going to play on Sunday. This is obviously worse than playing Whitehurst (100% chance of victory) but a healthy Hasselbeck vs. a less than 100% Luck is not that big a difference IMO.
Yeah I would have been more surprised if he didn't play. The AFC is wide open this year. Colts just need to get in and they have a shot to make a run.
