That is totally with checking the blitz at the LOS and then the receiver also checking out of the original patten into a new route. It is not something I have seen any Kubiak Qb/receiver do often. Most of the time, it seems that the original play design has a safety valve the the QB is supposed to hit. That is no longer working.

The fact of the matter is that the OFFENSE is the unit with the issues the past few years. No matter if those issues have been with FA losses, poor line play, injuries to Arian, poor execution in the Red Zone, or lack a legitimate 2nd WR, etc. The Offense though is Kubiak's bread and butter and for the past few years it has stagnated or worsened.

If you need a new offense, you basically have to fire Kubiak. Don't see any other way around it. The whole team likely needs that kick in the pants with a new coach and system. And before anyone states that Wade "has to stay", it not like there are not other good defensive coordinators that may be available.

I know the season is all but over, but i dont care these games are nailbiters all the way and what more can you expect from a team whose missing its top 5 RB, top 10 TE, top 5 LB and now the only 2 good players in the secondary in kareem and manning. Not to mention our starting QB is an unexperienced undrafted FA being protected by the worst O line we have had in years, people need to check their expectations and be realistic. Right now i am just enjoying the games and i can thank keenum and AJ80 for that, those catches by andre were flat out incredible and it was a joy to watch him and keenum trust in eachother and connect like they have been doing it for years. Just my 2cents

    More useless stats to ponder:

I really agree with you, we are asking a lot of a young rookie and he has given a lot, just not enough to turn the team around. He has helped them be competitive, but he can not do all that needs to be done. He can't compensate for a scaled back running game, a shaky offensive line, some questionable coaching calls, special teams that consistently put the offense in a hole, and a defense decimated with injuries. What could he do with a fully loaded, well coached team?

Ed Reed said you were out-coached.

Good start. We tried to....everyone has their own feelings about what is happening (or isn't happening). We try to keep everything in house. That's our policy. That's what I'm gonna do.

    Surprised he didn't?

Don't have an answer to that. A lot of people have opinions about what should or shouldn't be done.

    Kareem?

Chest contusion. There's outside possibility he could play. I'd assume he plays in 2 weeks. We'll see as the week goes along.

Talk about how Gary is feeling and his message to the team? How are things gonna go moving forward?

He came in and did talk to the team. His comments were looking at the game from afar and how much he missed it, being with the players and being around the team. He's gonna be in limited amount of time this week. That's up to the doctors. We don't know until they tell us what he'll do. He looked fine. He talked to the team about those things with conviction.

You expect to be interim head coach?

I don't know. It's up to the doctors.

    Arian Foster and his surgery?

I don't know that he had surgery. I know he has a disc problem and that's what they've been researching. That's where I am on that. I don't know what they decided to do.

So you can't confirm he's having surgery/is out for the season?

He is not out for the season right now. He's still on the roster. What happens, I can't say.

    Case?

He's done some good things. First half, he fought back after the first play. Made plays to Andre. I think his fundamentals, he still needs to keep working. (His 3/5 step drop) Blitzes, he needs to react quicker but that's part of playing. He makes plays off schedule that we haven't seen. He'll probably tell you he's early to get off schedule. They're working on that. ... Some close (interceptions) obviously but everyone does. He's had some positives. We played 3 close games. He was part of helping us get that close.

What is the matter with the offense?

We got to do well on D. I don't want to go there.

    D getting fatigued yesterday?

More of our guys getting banged up. Lost both corners at one time. Mays was out. McCain, Harris played corner for us. They hadn't been playing outside corner. And we didn't make plays when we needed to. J.J. made a big play at the end for an opportunity to tie or win.

    Elbert Mack - hamstring
    Joe Mays - oblique

    D.J. Swearinger and his season?

He's a really good young player. He still made some rookie errors but made a great INT. Almost had another for a TD. Made a lot of tackles. He's gotten better and better each game he plays. I'm excited about him. Bright future.

Ed Reed's role on this team?

We've been utilizing the way we feel is best for us. Those 12 plays is where we utilized him.

Biggest thing team needs to do to get a W?

Persevere. You have to have a tough mindset to keep trying. I believe this team will. If you keep a great attitude, you have a better chance.

    Team staying together?

We have a strong locker room. I don't have doubts that we will. The will to prepare is just as important as the will to win.

I'll be surprised if we win 5 games at this point. Most snake-bit team I've ever seen.

I think the 2nd half of the Seahawks and Colts games' combined with that Rams clunker at home just killed this entire season. Now they are injury riddled and have no hope so it's going to get uglier.
