i noticed that too. he relates well with his peers & he's got a little bit of brady in him when it comes to firing up his oline. but the speed in which the offense operated at... my god, i loved it. i think arian will too.
This is the first game of the season that I've actually looked forward to watching. With Fitzpatrick, my mentality was everything on offense, defense and special teams has to go right in order to make up for Fitzpatrick's shortcomings. Now, I fee like we got an actual decent qb. Such a night and day difference between fitz and mallett. The pocket awareness, poise, quick release and decision making was all there.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves here...Mallett had a strong showing, but Texans would have won that game with Fitz too. Any time your defense shuts down the opposing team and your RBs rush for 200+ yards on 50 carries...you're going to win the game with ease.
A down the field threat is what opens up the running game, dont think Fitz takes this team into Cleveland and comes away with a win. You Mallett haters are just gonna have to eat crow for a week at the very least.
I don't think so. Mallet kept our D off the field. He also got the ball out quickly and allowed our Offense to run in a Philidelphiaesque tempo.
Why am I a Mallett hater? We went deep a bunch, but connected on one of them I believe. If it was that easy to open up a run game, then teams would just launch it deep a few times to start the game. The OLine did a great job run blocking...that wasn't bc of Fitz lol. Fitz was quick and decisive with his throws, which was great to see...but he wasn't the reason we won the game. The defense and running game carried the load. Like I said, great way to start his career though. He showed promise.
The key is to see how Mallet responds when the O-line doesn't do its job. Fitz played well first couple games when offensive line did well, then went full fitz when it was poor. If he can hold up in those stretches, he could probably be the guy
Mallett is already the best QB in this franchise's history, poor Andre. Deep balls were nice and Mallett made it look effortless but the defense made some nice plays to break them up. Other passes were sharp and accurate for the most part. Good to see.

Tried that; didn't work. Do you just hit click embed and then copy and paste that whole paragraph on the left?
I am most happy about how good Cushing looked today. Honestly just a relief to see him moving around like that, haven't seen it since 2012.
First Texans game I've enjoyed in a long, long, long time. Cushing looked much better. QB looked great (but I think it's way early to be too excited). Running game was precise and dominating. There were some Oiler-esque comedy of errors moments, but in general a great game to enjoy. Finally.
In history? There's never been a B2B DPOY winner. Watt could win 3+ consecutive. Then more. Exactly. Defense has to guard the entire field (deep) which opens everything else, especially the run game.
Gahh I wish I had recorded the game! Mallet said he was ready, no one believed him. That's gotta be a good feeling for him. Locker believes in him now, I think this is all very good news and a long time coming. I apologize for calling Maller dumb a few days ago, the way he ran the huddle and managed the game was amazing to see. Pretty sure my mouth was open on at least a few of those throws. His arm strength is a beautiful sight.
