I think he's probably not totally dumb. It's probably more of just an accent issue.

For instance, many northerners think that most people from the South sound dumb. I've lived in the Northeast for 11 years or so and have met tons of people that feel this way. Its almost like racism, in a way.

Me too. Imagine waiting for four years for your "big chance." He has to be really stoked. He may throw every pass out of the stadium.

Cant wait to finally see a ball actually get over thrown...just saying...I am not quite sure if the team has elite level deep threat WR's but it sure will be nice, to give them shots one on one down the sideline. Im also excited to see a QB that doesnt have to worry tremendously about his passes being batted down at the LOS. I really hope that Mallet takes advantage of this golden opportunity in his career, and if he is successful...gives BOB and the Texans to bring him back next year.

Also note that Vegas only has our team as a 3 point dog at Cleveland...I will be betting on this game and fade the public. Hou +3

Hope to see quick decision making and a deep ball from Mallet.

Pretty much the opposite of Fitz.

I'd love to see the line give him enough time to be able to throw a deep ball because that would mean that they've improved a lot.

I would love to see a QB who doesn't hold onto the ball too long.

Its more than just that... its establishing a decent mix of the run and hitting the intermediate routes, in order to get less men in the box.

This line can/should block base pressure... they get fooled too easily with stunts and extra men, not to mention that opposing teams have no fear that Fitzpatrick is going to beat them over the top.

Manning and Brady improve their line play with the threat of their abilities, play-calling, and decision making.

26 on the Wunderlich isn't what I'd consider "dumb". He's no Ryan Fitzpatrick, that's for sure.

Why are you so negative? It's almost like you want the mallet to fail.

    The Texans fanbase is terrible.

i would be so thrilled about this move, but wasn't it reported that mallet and savage have been terrible in practice?

At times, you can be so pessimistic, I think you're a Browns fan.

I can remember sitting in their stadium once, them with something like two wins, and us with something like five or six, and repeatedly hearing, "We're going to lose to the f*$&ing Texans?!?" Yeah, they were being realistic, too.

Because what he fought against tooth and nail all year will be proven wrong. Same thing with Pancakes, he said Mallett is terrible so dont expect any praise when he has the slightest bit of success.

It won't be just the deep balls Mallett's big arm will open up for Texans - it's the middle of the field passes that require zip to beat defenders as well.
These passes also require a greater amount of accuracy and unfortunately Mallett does have some accuracy issues.
Overall though, I think Mallett is an upgrade over Fitz.

Im not comparing Mallet to him but Dan Marino is not very bright and had a hof career. Fitz is a smarty but a horrible qb.

Offensive line plays like scrubs and Mallet gets injured. Fitzpatrick comes in, OL starts playing better, and Texans win.

Mallett has always had a reputation for being inaccurate. And being a guy with a big arm, he also had a reputation as a guy who's struggled to take something off for shorter passes. A couple of weeks ago, I heard the same thing about him in Texans' practices.

Well yeah, I'm not saying that he can't be good because he's a moron, lots of dumb QB's have been successful. Honestly I'm worried more about his accuracy issues and his lack of mobility being issues. If we had an O line that pass blocked better, that would help relax one of those concerns but the accuracy issues can be killer.
