I say Fire Kubiak, promote Wade Phillips to HC for this year (Hire a new OC) with balls and go from there.. .Ravens hire an new OC- mid season last year and they made the Super Bowl.. I relaly think Matt can get out of this, but not with Kubiak as
    his coach..

The change should be made now, but my fear is that it'll take until the Indy game after losing to KC in a couple of weeks. That KC defense is forcing turnovers like crazy and will feast on a shell shocked QB.

Assuming we can take care of the Rams, which is far from given, that would put us at 3-4 going into the Indy game. That game would basically be our season on the line IMO.

I agree 100%. But my fear is that it'll take until this season is over until any changes will be made. What ticks me off even more is that TJ isn't as versatile as Case, and I'm ticked that if any changes will happen at the QB pos, TJ yates will take over. I really wish Case was the back up in this situation versus TJ.
If I had the authority I would bench Schaub right now, and let Yates and Case fiddle around and win games for experience. Our building block for the future starts now. NOT next season. Any true long time Houstonian will agree. Let Yates play a half and Case the other, OR alternate full games with both of them. one with Yates, the other with Case until the season is over to see who has the potential to succeed with our team from next season. I really believe Case will win that battle.

I honestly hate Kubiak and his defending of Schaub. I want a true leader of a coach who doesn't take any BS. I hate how Kubiak rides Schaubs tail. It's getting to the point now where it's just inhumane.

Some stuff from their radio segments:

    Kubiak:

(Hopkins) He has to do a better job out there too. He has to get open and do his job.

(Yates) Didn't get a chance to do much. Wasn't a lot there. I wasn't going to throw every down. Then we end up fumbling the ball too.

(Foster & Tate both in the backfield at the same time) Spent the whole week without a fullback. Greg missed the entire week. Ben came in and did a good job.

(Injuries) Martin is doing okay. Owen is in a 2nd MRI(lower leg). Reed is fine.

(Penalties) We're at the top of the league of having too many. Those things get you beat.

    (Duane) He's doing okay.

(OD if he can't go) We do so much with those guys(the TEs). We'll keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.

(Defense) They've been consistent. Got put in tough situations last night and kept battling. I'm proud of their effort. They played hard. Hopefully we can help them out a bit.

(Takeaways) Stage hasn't been set for us to get them.

(Harris pushing Newton and Ben Jones) Ben was consistent. He held his own. Ryan continues to push for play time.

(How do you rebuild confidence?) The team takes care of that. Important we find a win, our third win. You play well as a team, a lot of players regain confidence. You have to be mentally tough. That's why (Schaub's) played a long time and has been successful.

(Anybody else Matt is talking to for advice or a helping hand?) All guys are different. Matt is married and has a family. His wife is a big support as is his dad. Everyone has a support system. I want to be that for him and help him work through it. All players are different from that standpoint.

(Pass protection) It could help us. We played a darn good group. We threw the ball way too much. We can be firmer but other times we're doing an excellent job. It all goes hand in hand. You don't want to come out throwing 40 times. That's not what we do(/want to do).

(Cushing) He was fine. Went as smooth as you could through it(concussion protocol). We expected him to respond and he did.

(Mercilus) Playing really good. Brooks is the one on top of his game. Very excited about his progress.

(Andrew Luck/Colts) He's something else. They lost a great one and got right back to work with this one.

(Big picture, sitting at 2-3) I knew we were facing an early difficult schedule. We understood we would go through a tough stretch but never thought we'd be helping teams. We'll win our games if we play solid football.

-Special Teams can help jump start us too.

-Randy needs to get that done. He's no different. He has a job to do.

(Rams) They're a good football team. Very much a pressure football team. Fine young QB. Good football team, we'll take our best.

(Keenum) He's doing really good. Runs scout team. I got a lot of confidence in him. T.J. gets more work because he's our two but Case is becoming a much better pro and working towards his opportunity.

(Locker room mood) As coaches, everyone has a heart beat of their room/position groups. Locker room, we're very disappointed. Plane ride was tough.

(What goes into evaluating everybody) You spend most of Monday grading film. I sit down with coaches and go through each player. We're keeping files on all of that.

(How much is Case pushing T.J.?) He's pushing every day and pushing hard. I thought T.J. answered the bell during training camp. All I can tell you is I got confidence in both of them and they're doing their job.

    Schaub:

Physically feel good. Emotionally, it was a tough one against a good football team. A lot of things we need to correct as a team and can improve upon and have to improve upon moving forward.

Reaction after the first interception? We had a good look. Corner jumped it, made a good play. After that, you keep firing and slinging it. We dug ourselves a hole and couldn't get out of it. We have to be better from the start and play 4 consistent quarters of football.

For us to be the type of team we know we can be, we have to put points on the board and we'll do that.

(Are you forcing things or running the offense the way it's supposed to be run?) We need to find points and get points and generate drives. Playmakers need to step up, across the board at every position. I wouldn't say we're forcing things. When you get down, you have to make plays and get the ball in places you otherwise might not.

2nd pick? He did jump the route but had a play with Dre that we run a lot. Guy made a break on the ball.

3rd pick? We caught a blitz look trying to get it to Garrett underneath. DT popped out, I didn't see him coming.

(Conversation with you and Gary when T.J. warmed up?) That's something between me and coach. We'll rally around each other and move forward. A lot of football left to be played. Conversations are private between myself and the coach.

We're a united team. Everyone has each others back. We know how everyone works and how hard they work. Everyone has each others back no matter what. This week is no different.

(Why Tate and Foster at the same time?) Trying to get playmakers on the field. It gives us an additional look.

(How much input do you have to say "I gotta have these things to go right for me to do my job"?) Throughout the week, I do have influence. I have a grouping of plays I like against certain teams and defenses. The coaches listen.

(What can you tell us about your emotions in being removed from a game? Threat moving forward?) As a competitor, you want to be out there every snap. I expressed that to him. He wouldn't want me to be any other way. Going forward, I'm the QB of this team.

(Doing anything else/talking to anyone else outside the building?) It's nose to the grindstone. Tons of people have tried to reach out. HS coaches, family, people reach out. It's awesome to see the support and people be there for you who have always been there. It's nice to have that support but we have to keep working and keep fighting.

I hate how Schaub acts like such a tough guy in these interviews, after performing like crap for a month now...not that I'd expect anything different, but it would make me feel much better if he just admits to playing like ****. Instead, it's "everyone needs to play better". **** you.

    I actually respect that attitude.

Just wish he'd keep those fetal folds to 1/game.

He's a pretty crappy leader when he doesnt place the majority of the blame on himself. He is clearly the biggest reason we are sucking right now, but he disperses that blame amongst everyone. He's ****ing clueless.

He said nothing wrong there. He's not playing well and he knows it. He's never an "I" player when things have gone well, so it shouldn't surprise you that he's not going to crucify himself on a radio interview.

Seriously? This pissed me off. Hopkins is playing great.

You must not have heard players like Manning, Rodgers, or Brady...they are all about "I" when things are going horribly...and about "we" when things are going great. It's being a leader...that's what QBs are supposed to do.

Nobody on the team is playing nearly as poorly as Schaub...he is literally tossing the win to the other team...it would be nice to take a little bit more accountability, because we've been hearing the same BS from him for 3 weeks now, yet not only are things not getting better, they are getting worse.

    ^**** Schaub.

You are absolutely right. I always hear Peyton saying stuff like "I have to play better."
