Was about to ask in here if anyone knew what Morton hit on the gun today. Such a sneaky signing, feels weird to say but I'm psyched about Charlie Morton
Could end up being completely wrong, but I've got a sneaky feeling that Morton ends up being a very very solid part of our rotation. IF he can stay relatively healthy
If he's hitting 95 on his fastball and hitting hard 90 on his splitter then I think he can be slightly above average. That would be fine with me. More than I thought we'd get out of 'em. Impressive start today.
Astros have the second fewest losses (6) this spring among the projected division winners behind the Cubs (5).
The thing is his advanced stats have always been solid even without the velocity. If he has legit strikeout pitch, he could be a mid-high 3 ERA guy. That would be huge and one of the biggest value signings of the off-season when you consider his contract.
We have a plethora of 3B doing well this spring. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/teams/...ason/HIT-BASIC/yearly?&_1:col_1=3&_1:col_2=18
has he lost weight? just want to see if there is any correlation between hitting well and great big fat person.
Fielder, el caballito and the red head...the great hambino and so on. But many said here that he had gotten fatttttt?! and that contributed to his woes. Anxious to see how he does come opening day.
