2nd worst? Try THE WORST. Even Minnesota has passed us. UPDATE: 1st inning. We put the first 2 guys on base. No outs. How many runs do we get? ZERO Now back to our regularly scheduled program.... Oh wait.. This is our regularly scheduled program.
My one fear with new ownership and not knowing how they will spend, or if they will spend at all, is becoming Toronto. I realize they play in the AL East and while St Louis and Cincinnati are going to be good, neither has the resources that NYY or Boston have but I would hate to be good enough to be average but never a legit contender. Nice to have a LF that actually makes plays even if he bounces into double plays...lol.
JR's deal with the devil didn't last very long. Q is a difference maker on D, what does Towles bring to the party again?
I'd like to point out that, at this point in the season, the 2011 Astros are 1 game better than the 2005 Astros. I was going to post the tombstone picture, but they're not 15-30.
well by all means, let's start printing those playoff tickets. Pettitte, Clemens, Biggio, et. al. are sure to awaken and deliver. oh, wait...
Hmm.... Brandon Morrow is wearing the alternate "T" cap.... and Juan Rivera is wearing the regular Jays "J" cap.
I'm lovin the grey road uniforms + red hats. Really clean combo. Hopefully we wil see more of this, and less of the overused red jerseys.
Why did we trade for Clint Barmes? He is a good fielder (that error withstanding), but so was Tommy Manzella.
Someone evidently thought he would have another year like 2008 or 2009. http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/stats/_/id/5798/clint-barmes
