Osuna still hasn't walked a single batter this season. I'm gonna throw strikes and make you prove you can hit my stuff. He's gonna get hit eventually, and he's gonna walk someone eventually, but he does not get himself into trouble. It's the easiest closer to watch I have ever seen. Lidge at his peak dominance in 04 is the only other guy that comes close and even he got himself into trouble with walks on occasion.
In 42 IP so far, the Osuna/Pressley/Harris combo has given up 3 ER with a cumulative 0.50 WHIP. Rondon has been pretty good, too. Right now, it's, at best, a 6 inning game for opposing teams. As long as the offense does what it's supposed to, it's ok that the rotation isn't meeting the ridiculous standard set last season.
Yep, the Astros bullpen has been nails so far. Astros bullpen had the lowest FIP and ERA last year. Astros bullpen has the lowest FIP and ERA this year. The Astros starters have pitched more innings than any other team this year. Astros have only lost 2 games in which the starters gave the bullpen a lead.
