    Exactly.

Nobody buys newspapers anymore... this is how they make/earn a living and how their "reporting" is consumed.

Print media, and the journalists that make up that medium, never went away... they just switched their medium to online, tweets, social media, and blogs.

I was there last night. Got Hammered and harassed Blackmon the entire game.

The "Horse too" movement now includes Zack Greinke, Recca Lobo, and Nancy Kerrigan.

Surprised yordan not getting the start in left since they are resting 2 starting outfielders. Hinch went with Diaz. I wonder if it’s the knee.

Interesting. As much of a big deal as the media has made of the Yankee's injuries, the Astros "bubble" is bigger. Yankees has lost far more player games due to injury but not as much quality.

Conversely, the Dodgers have a big bubble like us (though not as big), but it's more to the left, meaning fewer total injuries. Adds some insight into how they maintain that record of theirs. Regardless of the size of the bubble, that's an astonishing number of injuries for the Yankees.

It's interesting how some of the biggest circles on the graphs (LAD, HOU, MIN) are also still near the top of the league and playoff bound. That should be called the cluster of depth on the graph.

The previous graph was through June 26. Here's one through July 31:

A little suspect OF today with both Brantley and Diaz out there... guess Cole will just have to strike more guys out (or Marisnick just catches everything).

Same here. He hasn't been in the playoffs for some time now.
No bias but if it's not going to Trout, It would come down to Cruz and "Bregxit"?
In which case, someone will say Cruz is just a DH , Springer missed about 30 games, which would leave Bregman. But 'writers' with a vote might not like his batting avg.
    So your AL MVP=Verlander
Watch it go to Francisco Lindor womp womp due to the Astros having too many MVP candidates.

all right, passing the peyote around.

The World Series winning combo of Crane and Luhnow have finally hit the .500 mark for their tenure.

Too many MVP candidates. What a problem to have. We also have the problem of too many Cy Young candidates.

Stalwarts for this team whose seasons haven't been ruined by injuries have been Bregman, Gurriel, and Brantley. I don't think Bregs is quite having an MVP season this year. Yuli had a frustrating start to the year at bat, but he's been on an absurd tear lately and is currently leading the team in RBIs, is second in hits, and is batting near .300. He's also played all over the infield when we needed him to like an absolute champ. And then you look at Brantley and his godly consistent hitting, and I'd be tempted to peg him as the Most Valuable Astro this year.

Yeah, simply too much talent to narrow it down.

Not to get ahead of myself or anything, but I like that Brantley getting some burn at right field. If we make it to the WS, there needs to be a spot for Yordan in the NL hosted games, Yordan at LF, Springer at CF, and Brantley at RF could be what we are looking at for starters, with Reddick and Jake as late inning defensive replacements.

Your sacrificing a lot of defense for more offense (Reddick vs Alvarez). If this is the Astros thinking, they better start playing Alvarez in left now. See what defense he is capable of. But if the WS was next week, I would be very nervous about starting Alvarez in left.

Once we see him the outfield we can start accumulating some metrics, but without 'em, I'd say losing a couple of steps in each direction is worth the 4 rbi we get in those games.
