Needless to say, with Verlander going tomorrow, this is a big deal if we manage to get a win tonight.
He’s still striking out 24% of the time so just don’t see how he’s going to come up and cut that % down based on what I’ve seen from him in the MLB. Edit: And it’s not like he’s super young, he’s about to be 26. I just don’t see him being a MLB starter but hopefully I’m wrong.
on Reddit someone mentioned that Altuve is coming back soon and someone will need to be optioned back to AAA, so no point calling up Tucker/Alvarez
He is always going to have some contact issues. The thing with him is that he can be very successful even if he only hits 250 if the power is there and he walks enough. He has superstar speed as well. Odds are against him at this point, but it would sure be nice if he could make enough contact to replace Marisnick long term or fill an outfield spot long term.
Grade 2 means a minimum 4-8 weeks for it to heal properly. So we need to prepare for as much as 10 weeks before Springer is in uniform again. That includes minor league assignment. Timeframes for rehabilitation and return to sport vary depending on the nature and severity of the strain. As a general rule, Grade 1 hamstring strains should be rested from sporting activity for about three weeks and Grade 2 injuries for a minimum of four to eight weeks
That’s good news imo. I predicted 60 days last night. If he returns by August 1st that’s plenty of time to be playoff ready.
An opportunity for another young player to break into the lineup and become a star. Maybe not. As long as Mr. October is healthy for the Series.
