Astros need to be called out for their pathetic approach. Hinch making excuses now in the post game news conference. Archer stuff can be dominant but the Astros helped him tonight as well.
Well I'll give Archer a little credit tonight but he pitched against one of baseballs most struggling offenses and lately every pitcher going back to the A's series have looked like Cy young winners against this team. Yes they have found ways to scratch and grind some wins but that offense
Cherry picked date, ERA is only that high because he got lit up 2 games. In between those two games, he had 5 quality starts. And before that June 28 date, he had a 2.01 ERA I definitely agree we are making pitchers look better than they are though. Baseball is crazy man, a hot Rangers offense got one-hit today by Alfredo freaking Simon
Awesomely amusing. That's my take on Hudgens. He's awesomely amusing. You like that, too. The Astros swing away. The team hits lots of homers, lots of strikeouts and struggle to make adjustments. They are awesomely amusing.
Most of them have been in a season long slump. How many regulars are hitting above .260? I expected this team to hit HR's and not so much for avg. But .260 is just above avg and the majority of them aren't even batting above .240. Carter/Castro/Valbuena/Rasmus/Marisnick/Conger etc... Pathetic and they are wasting great pitching.
Not the greatest series outcome, but Astros at minimum held serve until Springer's return. I think we'll perform a little better even before George suits up again. Gomez will play better and we'll get 1 or 2 more RISP hits/game.
At least the White Sox are putting the smack on the Angels. Still disappointing to split a home series against a worse team.
Like all of the best hitting coaches, Hudgens has a series of magical Santeria hitting spells which he invokes at key moments. He is also known for his inspirational chats and hand clapping skills.
Archer is a monster.. archer is also a product of the mlb's RBI program... (Reviving baseball in Inner cities) hes a great story
fire the hitting coach!! it always seems to be the cool thing to suggest. But I ain't mad at chat, archer. the was a wonderful masterpiece by him and Mcswingbatterbatterswing. The one inning where we could have easily scored, Gattis' potential triple was taken away with tampa' playing their outfielders all the way into first row with the fans. =/ looking back, we shouldn't have swung at any pitches. he would have been taken out entering the 9th with 98 or so. =) rangers lost, la lost. it was a semigood day.
So did the home plate ump. We finally got the same benefit when Sipp came into the game, but it is hard to beat a guy with Archer's stuff when he has an expanded zone and being able to hit that spot off the plate.
