Chapman is cheaper because he's a one year rental... and he was suspended for 30 games. He wouldn't make a single bit of difference to this point. They did anything but mortgage the future for Giles... that's some delusional thinking right there. Similar prospects likely required to get Frazier (with 2 years of club control). Zimmerman/Grienke probably will be the type of move required if none of the starting pitching remains salvageable... then again, you were going into this season with a 1-3 that statistically matched up with any other 1-3 in baseball.
Plus If we had got Zimmermann or Greinke or Chapman or Frazier Wouldn't Hinch have just ruined them anyway
As I said before, I wouldn't have been surprised if they tried to target starting pitching in FA... of course in hindsight, it looks like a no-brainer. Then again, nobody was expecting Keuchel to fall off a cliff, McCullers to be the one to get injured (between him and VV), and McHugh to revert to extreme inconsistency.
We all bow down to your superior knowledge. There is nobody at all on the entire planet that was available that could have helped this team. Lunhow has assembled an astonishing array of talent that could rival anything the world has ever seen in any sport ever and has done it in completely perfect fashion
Anyone saying that about Luhnow needs their head examined Funny thing is you are coming at me on this and I've been pretty critical of Luhnow most of the year But, whatever makes you feel good bro, it's a free forum post away
