I know its easier said then done...but I think morey should dial up orlando. Offer everything possible to orlando for Howard. Then sign D will out right.

No matter what we give up...say Lowry, every pick have, Martin scola...etc

If we are left with Dwill, Lee, Parsons, MontieJunas, Howard... i guarantee we can pick up elite vertarns like garnett, allen, or crawford. ...

Only look forward to draft night, we'll see from there. That night will decide whether I'm optimistic about out future. I have noticed though this year I've been more frustrated, less happy thus more angry and pissed about the whole Rockets team + individual player performances + coaching + direction we are taking.

Even with Adelman's flaws, McHale has been way more frustrating. Also our team, ironically enough, is not as tough and hard working as last year. Lowry & Hayes were so much fun, getting those tripple-doubles, beating Boston like they were our b****. Patterson was still a bright spot. Also ironic as it is, we finally have two 7 footers again and still cannot rebound and have good defense.

I look forward to a completely new team and couldn't care if we only have Camby, Parsons & Dragic from the current roster. Lee & Boykins would be okay too, but the rest not so much. I hope we have D-Mo as our starting PF, draft a back-up C/PF (Sullinger, Moultrie, Leonard etc.) and draft a SG to play behind a new SG (Eric Gordon preferably) or keep Lee as a back up and draft a SF to play behind Parsons.

So again, draft night will decide it all!

Yes I agree. I think they make a big trade offer by draft night for Howard...if its not accepted then change plans...move to acquiring more space...move scola and martin... throw big money at Hibbert and E gordon...secondary plan sign our guys and throw money ... I think loosing kmart, scola etc..and starting the season with ... Just something to dynamically shake this team up...and I agree only players I am really die hard about keeper are Dragic, parsons and DMO...and prob lee.

Gee! Wow! I am so pumped about next year. Thanks Les, thanks Darrell, it has been a really cool ride. I mean, how could it get any better! So fun! Yeah, it may look to the negative people that we aren't making progress, that we are miserably stuck in mediocrity, but the rest of us know better. We know you are not clueless, we believe! Keep up the good work. Go Rockets, seriously!

I'm still optimistic about this offseason. I really think this draft has some sleepers we can capitalize on. I don't think our situation is nearly as bad as some people are making it out to be.

Two or three years ago, I believed that Morey's strategy was great:

    1. gaining assets by picking up good players for almost nothing
    2. keeping options flexible by avoiding being tied up by bad contracts
    3. doing diligent homework to be prepared to prance on big splash deals

After repeated failures of getting a superstar franchise player, I am losing faith. I now realize that
    1. big name FAs aren't come our way no matter how many iPads we throw at them
    2. GMs aren't as stupid as we think, giving you great players for a bunch of above average assets

So that pretty much sums up Morey's tenure here. I still think he is a very good GM. But being good is not enough. The only hope I can see is that either (1) Les changes his philosophy or (2) the NBA changes the system to reward hardworking, well-managed teams with good odds of landing great players. Neither possibilities has a realistic chance of happening.

another thing is to hope this new utah jazz team doesnt get two lottery picks..to add to their already young up and coming team.

They make the playoffs they loose their pick to the timberwolves...and if golden state gets lucky in the lottery the jazz wont get their pick.

Crazy thing it is very likely that the warriors pick will come down to a coin toss.

Assuming they loose the next two games...and Toronto and and Nets play each other. One of those teams will have the same record as the warriors... tied for 7th worst record.

After the lottery if neither team win a top 3 pick...there will be a coin toss to determine who gets the 7th pick and who gets the pick.

Talk about a lot riding on a coin flip. Warriors either keep a no 7 pick in the draft (that is said to be deep and good) and most likely give their pick to the jazz next year when they will be competing for a playoff spot.
