True. Watson had a bad game but he's young with a below average offensive line. Both will improve as time goes on. Bill O'Brien's coaching worries the crap outta me though. Now Watson is officially brought back to reality of where he is at this point of his career as a NFL QB... he's not the be all #1 QB in the league right now that can take you to the promise land no matter the stakes... like every QB he needs a competent line, good defense and above average offensive weapons to win when it really matters.

Wright is never close enough to get hit in the chest with a ball. :)

Reading defenses, recognizing the blitz, footwork in the pocket, accuracy, going through his progressions...

He has a lot the work on this off season. Right now he looks closer to Mariota or Newton than the game changing franchise qb we hope he will become.

It's easy to say that now. I believe if you put Andrew Luck or Brady behind our offensive line they would get sacked more than Watson. Watson needs to work on those things as a young QB but at the same time he needs more help around him and a better offensive coordinator. Good players have left this organization in the past for more stable ones and have had instant success. The overall offensive depth for the Texans needs to be improved whether if it's depleted due to injuries or just plain below average players.

Nope....just looking at it objectively. He’s a good qb that a team can win with if he has the right parts around him. He’s athletic, has a strong arm, works hard, intelligent, etc. But right now he has a lot to work on and we can not yet anoint him as the savior.

    Time will tell.

He has some of the worst OLs, runningbacks, TEs, and offensive coaching to work with. It's pretty amazing he had the season he did with only Hopkins and Fuller (when healthy) to help him.

Yeah it surprised me too. I knew he was good but I didn't expect him to be where he is now this quick. Some fans won't acknowledge it but if he ever leaves this city due to team never putting him in a reasonable position to have a fair shot at competing for a super bowl he will definitely win it elsewhere or at least get there.

I blame Watson's struggles on O'Brien. The entire year he employs this vanilla run first offense. Then when it matters most he totally changes the game plan. Watson did not look comfortable and it doesn't help when Hopkins was banged up and outside of Coutee the rest of the receivers were useless.

Next year isn't going to be better either. We have a 1st place schedule and Indy has even more cap room than we do.

Can’t annoint him as the savior? He threw for 26TD’s and 9 picks(ran for 5 more Td’s) in his “rookie year”. Saying he is not accurate is stupid. He was a 74% passer with a 8.3YPA in the last 9 games with DeAndre Hopkins and insurance sales men. He had a bad game today. His footwork is actually really good and if you watch the game at all you would see he runs through reads consistently. So much wrong about your post I don’t really know if we could have an educated football discussion.

At the end, we were exactly the team most of us knew we were deep inside.

    Of course not.

He has to get better in all areas.

But what you said was a load of crap.

Lol. Okay so you are saying he has get better in "all areas" and I pointed out things he has to improve in.

Sounds like we both basically agree he is not a finished product and needs to improve elements of his game.

Right now after 24 career games no one can say with certainty if he will be a transcendent qb. Others have had early success (rg3, Mariotta, winston, derek carr) but either plateaued or flamed out. His athleticism will fade as he gets older so he better learn to play from the pocket.

    Success is not guaranteed...

Colts completely flipped the game on us since our first matchup this year.

Lucky win, to home loss, to elimination at home

Damn near two decades of being that franchise's *****.

Texans can't beat a good QB either.

Still confident we'll have a good draft but O'Brien will always limit us and he's not going anywhere.
