As Joe Joe mentioned in the other thread, Luhnow could be "Dodgering" this. Morton may be a little sore, so Peacock starts Wed, they skip his start (off day) Thursday, they DL him so they're not short an arm in the pen. Just like Keuchel. Here's hoping.

What the Dodgers have been doing is a direct consequence of the switch to a 10-day DL. They've termed it the "10-day vacation carousel"

The Dodgers continue to use the 10-day disabled list to give their pitchers rest. The latest on the rest train is Kenta Maeda — who could have seen this coming? — one day after he made his longest start as a Dodger.

Maeda was placed on the 10-day disabled list on Thursday with left hamstring tightness to make room for the activation of Hyun-jin Ryu, who was on the disabled list for, um, sliding into second or something.

    Super convenient timing.

Agree on the rest aspect. I also think anyone who was being realistic knew that Morton would hit the DL at some point. Even the most optimistic projections probably had him missing a month over the course of the season. I'm pretty happy this seems relatively minor and unrelated to past injuries or his arm (even though lat injuries are nothing to sneeze at)

Hinch mentions Martes, Paulino, and even Trent Thornton and Dean Deetz as guys who could possibly get looks in the Astros rotation.

Well, ****. Would be great if Paulino was ready, or Martes wasn't so inconsistent.

This about says it for me. I was hoping it was just a precaution, but does not sound that way. Also, I was hoping Armenteros be on short list. Deetz has had Luhnow/Hinch say his name now a couple of times at least.

Not like we were really expecting 30+ starts out of Morton anyway, right? At least it's now and not in August/Sept.

The last run Lance surrendered... Luis Valbuena scored on a put-out, May 6th. The run was unearned.

His last earned run was the previous start, May 1st vs TEX.

    Kevin Eschenfelder just mis-spoke similarly.

He said Altuve has never had a BA this low, this late into a season.

I like your newfound hobby. Tellit is twitterboy, you're graphicsboy. Keep it up.

Lance needs to be Home Lance today, Asher has pitched really well in his 2 starts. Expect tons of cutters and sinkers, though surprisingly for a sinkerballer he gives up a bunch of fly balls.

Bregman swung the bat well yesterday, haven't looked when his last day off was so this may have been a pre-planned thing.

Mortons velocity had been down his last couple of starts he was sitting 94-95 as opposed to his usual 97 . Could've been a difference in the radar guns , could've been him trying to work through this injury , could've been those first few starts were outliers and 94-5 is his true speed.

Damn. Pitch was inside, but didn't have enough juice to be effective. Lance can still have a good game.

Bats, bat. Facing a tough customer though, as previously mentioned.

McCullers getting hit hard, even on out(s). Hope he settles down. The Bully might struggle in handling a short start. 2 K's first inning gives hope.

    Let's get some runs.

A good ol' MMP 316 foot HR. We've had our share too.

Lance and his pitch count needs a DP.

I jest. Some on this board expect the Astros to win every game and fume if they don't. Heck, some fume even when we win. We've taken 2 so far- we lose this, it happens.
