I'm not sure about now, but when it first debuted it was not standard...was part of a premium sports tier.
Keuchel has been a top 5 starter in the AL (#2 according to WAR on ESPN), and I don't think it's a stretch to see him be in consideration as a starter on the roster if he keeps it up. I think he has a better shot than Altuve at this rate unless Altuve pulls away from his competition.
I made it on Sportscenter, so there's that. I know of two Clutchfans that have caught HR balls. Stack24 at Fenway and JBIIRockets at MMP. I saw the latter live and loved that he didn't throw the ball back. **** Cubs fans and their dumb traditions.
I saw the dude in the championship shirt! You were near by? I was in section 107 so just close enough to see who caught it.
I was in the plaid shorts, grey shirt and Astros hat leaning over. He snagged it right before I could.
Here are the past 6 years hit leaders for their respective leagues going into the All Star break. All of them were All Stars, and you even had guys like Cristian Guzman and Martin Prado who were not historically AS type players. 2013 - Juan Segura, Manny Machado/Miguel Cabrera 2012 - Melky Cabrera, Miguel Cabrera 2011 - Jose Reyes, Adrián González 2010 - Martín Prado, Josh Hamilton 2009 - Ichiro Suzuki, Miguel Tejada 2008 - Cristian Guzman, Ian Kinsler Point being, if Altuve can keep it up, I think it would be fair to consider him a lock for the All Star Game.
If the club is near .500 when the manager makes his reserve selections then it'll be much more palatable putting more than one Astro on the team.
Expected Run Differential. We look really good: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-best-and-worst-teams-two-months-in/
Stros are a playoff team next year if they add an elite pitcher and hitter this off season. Is this the off season Lunhow unloads on free agents? Hoping I am right on above account and the Texans get in this upcoming season as well.
I disagree. George is the first of our minor leaguers to come up, and we will see our team get even better with the additions of Correa (probably end of 2015), Singleton (this June), Domingo Santana (end of 2014?) Folty among others. Btw I'm not a big Mark Appel fan, I kinda think he might be a minor league flameout, but I'm no MLB scout and I hope I am dead wrong. Add in a free agent or two and I think this team could reach .500 next year, with playoffs in 2016. Go Stros!
