Don't get all offended, it was a joke. But with the way things have been going lately... yea it felt like eternity.

I'm happy we made this deal especially now that Hibbert signed at max money by the Blazers.

No, his average salary will count against the cap (in all years).

Good. But we have to make space for him, right? Scola trade?

My point: $8M/year to a guy w/ chance to be elite rebounder + one of league's half-dozen best big man defenders is not crazy.

I think it's more likely about forcing Chicago to the table for a trade. Besides, we've still got the flexibility to make a Dwight trade. And if we do trade for Dwight, then Asik becomes a huge trade commodity at the deadline this year if Chicago doesn't match, or he becomes Dwight's replacement on the cheap if Dwight does indeed move out without signing a max deal here.

I live around the Chicago area and watch some Bulls games.

Asik is not deserving of that money.

I don't think hes Gortat 2.0 which would be solid value for us.

It was a SMART poker move, but the question a lot of us have is ..whether it is a GOOD basketball move.

Does Asik add anything more than say Dalembert?

What difference does it make if Morey pays him more money later? It's better when you think about it.

    1) It allows us to use our cap space this off-season.
    2) It saves cap space for next free agency.
    3) It becomes the perfect expiring contract when teams want out of luxury tax hell in three years and want to give away a star for picks. Everyone can use a seven foot center.
    4) Bulls can't match.

This is what I was afraid of. All the snubbing has left Morey hungry at the buffet and now he's overpaying for a 2nd..maybe 3rd tier player so he can walk out of the line with something.

Kwame Brown made 6.8 million last season. You might want to rethink your desire to make that bet.

    Those four are capable.

    Asik was overpaid.
