Rockets will sign Omer Asik to 3-year, $25 million deal on July 11. Bulls will have 3 days to match. 3rd year approaches $15 million.

It's being backloaded so the Bulls won't match. They'll have lux tax issues if they match it.

I figure this ends the Dwight saga for Houston.

they have 3 days to match after he signs on July 11th I believe . . .

I've literally lost all faith in this organization.

I've lived in Chicago my whole life. Watched every Bulls game. Omer Asik is freaking trash. His only attribute is that he's 7 feet tall. That's it.

8 million a year, for being a 7 foot tall stiff, with ZERO offensive game.

That's what it would look like for the Bulls since they can only pay the MLE the first two years. For us it would be spread out evenly. Nice ploy by Morey.

Sorry for the typo folks. Again, Asik deal will be for three years. Obviously heavily back-loaded in hopes Bulls won't match.

    bull****, no way.

Carl Herrera is gonna flip. Current roster:

    Asik/(Camby)/Brockman
    White/Scola/Patterson/Leur/Morris
    Parsons/Jones
    Martin/Lamb/(Lee)
    Lowry/Fortson(Dragic)

This. I can vouch and say the same thing. I've seen the Bulls a lot living in Chicago, Asik is overrated. Paying him this much is just a waste.

@densilva2: $15 million of the $25 comes in that third year for Asik. Heavily backloaded. No way I see Chicago matching.

How much of a difference maker is he really on the Rox though? A little taller Chuck Hayes type of player.
