Good points. I'm with you when you say this rebuild is a high risk/high reward strategy.

But the public and ESPN have a right to expect better. This is major league baseball and right now the Astros look like a bad AAA team on exhibition against real MLB teams.

Crane should be completely prepared to take every bit of negative commentary because he signed off on it.

 

If the Pirates and Nationals can become respectable, the Astros can come out of this.

On the ESPN take. It's a slap in the face of MLB fans in Houston that have to pay Major league prices to see a minor league team. It can not be justified and Crane better not keep THIS kind of a historicly bad team on the field for 2 more years.

If he does that the fans should sue for fraud. Hell, I'd think The MLB owners would sue since Crane will make more money because of the low salaries while taking in Tax revenue.

I think 100 losses next year isn't out of order, but I expect mediocrity in 2014.
