i agree with you...hate speaking in superlatives, but i also have never seen a bigger disaster. will be on blooper reels with Keystone Cops music playing till the day we die.
I love my Astros but... I could probably watch that play a 100 times and still laugh. Lopez and Pearce run into each other Pearce almost kills a "trying to be the hero by diving" Downs Bogey then airmails past catcher.
So only 2 errors. Could have been 3 on that play. The initial failure to field the ball cleanly could have been one in addition to the 2 throwing errors.
Well first of all, should be 2011-? Astros (the worst may be yet to come). Second, while disappointing, the Texans were at least competitive in several seasons (not all) before 2011.
Click on this link and click on video in the bottom middle. it should start right when you click it. SMH. I know what Astros Highlight will be on Sportscenters top plays on Friday.
I was trying to do the opposite of "know and love". I wasn't really watching the game. I flipped over once early when Gonzalez hit his homer. Then when I saw the game was in extras, I flipped over and saw that pathetic excuse for "professional" baseball.
Oh dang, forgot this was clutchfans tried to imbed videos like normal anyway http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PXj8m4yZyo

worth another post to see slow-mo and to hear nats announcer saying it's one of the worst plays you will ever see. <iframe src='http://mlb.mlb.com/shared/video/embed/embed.html?content_id=23685139&width=400&height=224&property=mlb' width='400' height='224' frameborder='0'>Your browser does not support iframes.</iframe>
Whatever Nationals. I know you're finally not the ****tiest team in the league, but it wasn't long ago you were.
Have to go with the Astros. Only once were the Texans considered the worst team in the league (2-14 disaster). I never got to see the 1962 Mets, but I imagine the Astros of the last 2 seasons are close. I'm fine with rebuilding and understand that typically means less than stellar play. However, it feels like the culture of losing is taking hold and that is not good. I'd be fine with signing a few mediocre vets in the offseason if it means they can win some more games...at least to learn how to win more than playing not to get blown out constantly.
I dont know how you can avoid creating a culture of losing during a rebuild. But the early 70's Oilers were easily the worst Houston team 1970 - 3-10-1 1971 - 4-9-1 1972 - 1-13 1973 - 1-13 http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com/nfl/tenhou/houoilers.html
This is for that one guy that wanted to give Jordan Schafer another chance.... <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Schafer's .606 OPS, by the by, is worst among all MLB outfielders. And that's with a .308 BABIP.</p>— Astros County (@AstrosCounty) <a href="https://twitter.com/AstrosCounty/status/232887273920806912" data-datetime="2012-08-07T17:13:47+00:00">August 7, 2012</a></blockquote> <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
How many of the people in that dugout project to be here and contributing when we're contending? 2-3 tops?
