Biagini is already amazing. They're going to adore him in the clubhouse. The press doesn't know what to do with him. I'm laughing my ass off at everything he says, and they're awkwardly silent. But Julia gets it. When he took a picture of all of them during his introduction press conference, Julia posed and did a little peace sign. He came up to her afterwards and said she was the best interviewer. That was the first time they met.
https://www.mlb.com/news/all-the-combined-no-hitters-in-baseball-history (from 1 hour ago) "There have been 302 no-hitters throughout Major League Baseball’s history, and nearly all of them have been performed by a single pitcher. The others? Fourteen combined efforts where the starter didn’t go the distance and the bullpen completed the feat. Below is a look at each combined no-hitter, beginning with the most recent. Astros 9, Mariners 0 -- Aug. 3, 2019 Aaron Sanchez (6 IP), Will Harris (1), Joe Biagini (1), Chris Devenski (1) ..." Astros have 2 out of those 14 now.
If Biagini can provide the same sense of humor McCann did to our 2017 boys I smell a championship in the making.
Wow the astros are unbelievable. 13-3 last 16. Throw a no hitter tonight. Win the player, Pitcher, and rookie of the month in July. Blockbuster trade at the deadline. Cole reaches 200k second fastest in MLB history. Yordan breaking records. Altuve reaches 1500 hits. What else is there to say. Just incredible. What a time to be an astros fan
Love Peacock, and of course he's super important to Astros lore after 2017. But I wish Sanchez got 41. Peacock would look nice wearing 40, IMO (sorry Wilson family).
You are probably better off. I woke up from a late nap, went to Yahoo sports, saw a no hitter in progress, went to CF, made a comment and was royally pummeled! A lot of superstition around here.
It was extremely weird for a no hitter. The combined nature certainly played a big role, but I personally felt much more invested emotionally in the 03 combined no no then I did for this one. I was so focused on seeing how Sanchez looked, i didn't seem to care that he didn't give up any hits. He could have given up a blooper and I wouldn't have really felt any different about it. I'm extremely happy Sanchez looked awesome, the no hitter fees like a neat detail, not the headline news it normally is. I don't know if we've become numb to greatness or what, but judging from what I saw at the stadium, and on the field, I'm not the only one that felt a lot less excited than I was for other no hitters.
It most surely would, but.... I don’t think anyone wants Greinke to go there and use a Strap-On. We will be fine with him just pitching and continuing the hot streak.
Verlander: Leads AL in ERA, wins and 2nd in Ks; Cy-Young co-favorite Cole: Leads AL in Ks, 2nd in wins and WHIP; Cy-Young co-favorite Greinke: NL leader in WHIP; NL Cy-Young contender up till trade; former Cy-Young winner and future HOFer Miley: No 2 in AL in contact % and ground ball rate; #6 in ERA and #9 in WHIP Sanchez: Hold my beer..........
Our no hitter differential is the best in the history of mlb, +9. We are talking the history of baseball.
