.235 would actually be an improvement. He'd basically be doing what Rasmus is doing (presuming the power is good).
Yea I don't want to keep arguing with you about Reed In general I don't really disagree with your view of him Just don't see Crane biting a 4 million dollar bullet to get 3 extra weeks out of a guy who isn't absolutely crushing AAA As I've said before, hope I'm wrong cause I do think he would improve of if only a little bit Just don't see it happening with him hitting .235 at AAA, just my opinion
And one more thing If Reed came up and hit .235 CangraOuch and Fried would blame Hinch over and over and over Can you argue against that?
Hinch isn't a good manager, can you argue that? Gomez isn't good CF'er, can you argue that? Oh wait, yes you can! Mr. Beer'd.
He is a homer and that is not bad. Now, when I said I wanted Marwin playing more he disagreed. I also said I wanted him batting second, he did yesterday, 2 hits. I also said I wanted him hitting 5th, well he had 2 hits today. He will say anything that is just the opposite view of us. Hinch is not a good manager. Gomez has no business playing at this moment.
Actually, if you have the ability to read you would know I don't like Hinch as the manager The problem you and your boy have, is that if someone posts and EVERY single post doesn't bash Hinch, you say we love him and we are a homer Gomez has been horrible, but unless we go get someone else, or take a chance on Kemp, Hinch has no better options But go ahead and say I love Hinch and I'm a homer and all of that Oh yea, call me a racist too that is the thing for you and your boy also
6-3 in May, have to have better options in the pen though. No way we can be consistently good without good options to go to in the pen
You also said Hinch is stupid for not playing Tucker more, and then you said Tucker needs to go to the minors You are minute to minute with the exception of hating Hinch and calling me Mean Person
Sipp is a good athlete, and I think Porter did play him in LF some I'm just not ready to say he would give us more than Gomez there
Name 10 defensive CFs (past or present) better than Marisnick. I've been watching baseball since '92 and Jake appears to be the epitome. There might be some as good, but better? Andrew Jones was awesome, but don't specifically remember his arm strength. Definitely wasn't a weak arm. Clemente, maybe? Did Mays play CF?
So much fail. **puts Houstunna on bigtexxx' knee to impart wisdom** 1. Willie Mays 2. Mickey Mantle 3. Joe DiMaggio 4. Griffey, Jr 5. Kirby Puckett 6. Andruw Jones 7. Jim Edmonds (cringe, but yeah, deserved) 8. Ichiro (although he played all OF spots over the years) just to start the more interesting question is where does he stack up among past Astros? Cedeno, Carlos Beltran, Kenny Lofton, Jimmy Wynn, Berkman (just seeing if yall are reading this)...
Started a thread... But perhaps not necessary. I don't mind learning. Funny thing is, you say "so much fail", then post 2 players I mentioned. *Officially off anyone's knee
Next 16 games are huge now with series against some good teams (Cleveland, White Sox, Red Sox, Baltimore, & Ranger) Stros showing some life finally. If they can at least stay at .500 over that stretch, it would be a great sign.
I hope everyone realize the problem so far is our pitching. The pitching has took a huge step back compared to this season. Our starter has been average at best, not horrible but definitely not where we were last season. Our relievers has been the biggest stinker. They need to either hold the lead or stop the bleeding. They done neither most games!!! For us to be better, our pitching must improve soon or the season will be lost.
I was reading the article over at Chron.com on Gomez and how he got himself tossed out of the game...and I was like "huh?". I would have tossed him, too, cause "I don't understand the words that are coming out of his mouth".
We have the 2nd worst starting pitching in the American League...our starters are definitely the problem. And Giles...he's a problem.
