Will Correa be back in the lineup tonight? Also, any ETA on when Springer is expected to be added back to the lineup? We're at that point where we need all hands on deck.
sounded like no, and Springer end of week or early next...was what i inferred from Luhnow comments (but didn't see specifics) edit: JR's post on it: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=9988122&postcount=349
curious to see whether: 1) feldman can keep up his stellar numbers, 2) CC's HR last night is a turn in the tide, 3) we can take care of business. Gotta think Mariners aren't playing for much. their play recently has looked pretty uninspired. this is a series we absolutely must have.
Astros better not take any opponents likely. I think they went to sleep against Oakland in August and got swept. Astros better not dare think they are going to take off days and keep the lead. With that said, I think it will be quite a task to keep the playoffs. Both Texas and the Angels have a lot of veterans and a lot of pride. They are veteran teams that can turn on another speed. And I doubt that both of those teams take the playoff race lightly. The Astros benefited in the fact that most of the MLB thought it was a cute story, but I think most teams thought they'd come back down to Earth at some point in the season. With 1 month of games left, the Astros are going to go down to the wire to even make the playoffs. Hoping that Springer, Correa, Tucker, Gomez can ignite the offense; because the pitching carried the Astros in August.
Springer obviously no earlier than tomorrow so they don't have to make any corresponding moves with roster expansion.
Should be fun to hear the Mariners broadcast team talk crap about how MMP mimicked Safeco with Keuchels Korner. Then have Keuchel go out and dominate them like he always does and shuts them up.
Correa starting today. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Correa says he's feeling great. He's back in the lineup.</p>— Julia Morales (@JuliaMoralesRS) <a href="https://twitter.com/JuliaMoralesRS/status/638444684818300928">August 31, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Is there any evidence at all that veteran teams do better in pennant races or that teams take other teams lightly in baseball?
I trust Lowrie to get it going again. Nuno is a soft thrower, which gives Carter a better chance than usual. I have little hope for Conger or Marisnick.
AJ says they should have new players "on the pitching side" here tomorrow. AJ on if Fields comes back tomorrow: "That would be a very educated guess." A.J. Hinch said OF George Springer will play tomorrow at Corpus Christi as he continues his rehab. Expect Josh Fields to return tomorrow, Preston Tucker on Wednesday
I do not have such information. I'm a casual fan, who speaks about what he sees. Maybe you know more and have the available data, showing that my perception is incorrect. In baseball teams never play down to an opponents level......
