Dragic has talent and the will to win, but if you watch Lin you see the man has the smarts to play like a Nash type. I like the move even though it's risky.
A cynic could conclude that the Knicks leaked this out, to get Rockets fans hopes up to just "reverse gears" at the last minute and keep Lin.....just like the Rockets reversed gears with the offer sheet at the last minute. I am sure the Knicks have moved on though....but clearly the NYT article left a crack in the door for a change of heart.

agreed but it would be pretty brutal to leak that info to a very reputable insider only to completely renege regardless of the qualifiers mentioned in the article.
