Busting out of the Rockets lose/Astros lose trend. Fine with me. The Astros can be my shoulder to cry on tonight
Oh I remember, it was the lone island for my first 15 years as a fan before Castro's fluke. The fact that we still traded him ASAP only magnifies just how much of an insufferable tool he must have been.
If Giles is going to be your closer going forward, this is the kind of game you put him into. For better or worse. eta: or not.
Although it was only one ab last inning I feel like Devo struggles multiple innings. Edit: and Giles coming in with runners on is not a good thing.
Didn't he do excellently multi-innings early last season ?? Giles scares me, but at least we have a three-run cushion.
Back in 2000, my brother and his gf and his buddy, who happened to be the son of one of the prominent Harris County Commissioners (whose name you would recognize) go to MMP. Fancy friend has box seats right by the dugout and before the game he's all "let me go introduce you to the players". Meluskey proceeds to blatantly hit on fancy friend's girlfriend right in front of him (what's the kid gonna do?), walks back to the desk area in the dugout, gives her his number written on a blank lineup card and writes down hers on another. As I understand it, they started banging later that week.
The Giles trend. Has a few bad outings to start the year to reinforce peoples lack of confidence in him, then proceeds to be awesome all while having people constantly nervous about his outings.
Intelligent play by Jose. He purposely let it drop and got the force out at second on a fast runner while allowing the catcher to reach first. Absolutely nothing wrong with that play and teams should do it more often.
Nice to see a win like tonight. Playoff type game. Two great starters making it tough on the offenses, but clutch timely hitting was good to see.
Glad to see McCullers get that ERA down to 3.20. I thought it would take a lot longer to recover from that Minnesota debacle.
