Well Josh Smith has exhibited that behavior since he entered the league, even under SVG. While I think you are a terrible poster in the GARM and offer very little actual basketball insight, a broken clock is right twice a day. I think this board in general assumes way too much about the head coach and how the coaching staff operates, but we do need a change in leadership. You've been beating this drum for awhile this awful thread you started, but you may want to be careful with what you've been wishing for. I would assume you aren't stupid enough to fire McHale for the sake of firing him without any consideration about actual, viable replacements.
Please don't be as ignorant to think McHale didn't make "appropriate adjustments". Or perhaps you just don't recognize adjustments and only assume appropriate ones happen only happen in games we win.
JOKE. <iframe src="https://vine.co/v/emhFDVYxKqV/embed/simple" width="600" height="600" frameborder="0"></iframe><script src="https://platform.vine.co/static/scripts/embed.js"></script>
I like our coaching staff, minus-McHale so far this post season. To add a little bit of context, McHale has had to go up against Carlisle and Rivers, which I don't think any head coach has had to go against consecutive top five coaches. I still think overall talent is more important, but McHale has failed overall in game management and adapting grossly in this series. I think people forget how good the Mavs were offensively without Rondo and underestimated the pace being played in round 1. I was generally okay with McHale in round 1 as I knew it would be a high scoring series (we were 1st in ppg heading into round 2). This series.... he just seems to freeze and become shell shocked, which setting aside the chess match going on (not a huge strength of his), is very concerning.
I'm tired of underachieving in the post season. Remember, we were FAVORED to win this series. And we are getting blown the **** out. McHale is underachieving in the post season for the 2nd year in a row.
Don't worry guys. We'll win another 50+ games next season. "HAIL MCHALE! HE'S THE REASON THE ROCKETS DID SO WELL!!! COY CANDIDATE!!!!!" Are the people who were spouting that nonsense finally seeing the light yet? If he wasn't playing ball back in the day, he'd be no where near a sideline in organised basketball.
We definitely weren't favored. Only 3 out of more than 10 ESPN analysts picked the Clippers to beat us. Vegas has higher odds for Clippers winning the West than the Rockets before the series began.
What he did say, 35 years of momentum, it's coming baby?? Kevin McHale is not a coach, he just isn't, why is he even in the arena? Just stay at home and text to JB. It might go something like this: JB: These guys are hyperventaling right now... McHale: Let them play through it! JB: Terry cannot stick with Reddick.. McHale: Just let him play! JB: Rivers is going nuts on Harden, Chris Paul cannot walk so we know he's not going inside but he's making threes,Reddick going off...change tactics? McHale: Ummgppphfff...I...well...uhmmm...I...you know... JB: They are on a 17-0 run, what do I do?? McHale: Just sit back and let it happen baby!
It's obvious Morey and Les stayed with McHale to recruit players and manage the chemistry in the lockerroom. Yah think they don't know he's not good at strategy? That's why we tried to upgrade our coaching staff. Remember we fired Dean Cooper last year? Watch one of the assistants get booted out after we get eliminated.
Morey's biggest mistake by far really don't understand how they still believe in this guy No way to lose this way with a team as talented as this one ONE EXPLANATION : DUMB COACH
Yes. So is Jeff Van Gundy. Holy crap. Could you imagine how good this team would be defensively under him? He never had this kind of talent during his first stint here. I know Les is a proud guy and the thought of admitting he f'ed up has to be a tough pill to swallow(especially since it'll cost him 13 mil). But if he's serious about ever winning another title, he has to make changes in the coaching staff this offseason. Remember, Dwight can opt out after next season. Think he'll stick around if this is what keeps happening in the playoffs?
