This team wins in spite of Mchale.

His offensive sets are the most stagnant in the entire NBA. No hyperbole.

Mchale THIS year has been great. Just like players coaches can get better. Hopefully Mchale and Harden can continue on this pace.. If so i think we can make some noise in the postseason.

I was about to post a thread like this.

Seriously, what would it take for the fans to welcome Mchale back as the coach?

    First round win?
    Second round win?
    Conference Finals win?
    Finals win?

I've been REALLY impressed with the coaching this year. Offense they're running more sets (I think our low offensive rank is due to injuries) and the defense is on another level.

If Milk hair leaves, we could always go after the original Milk Hair -- Del Harris.

McHale isn't a strategic mastermind, but his ability to get along with players and keep the team happy in the locker room is good enough for me.

We might not respect him, but the players sure as hell do.

    That's actually pretty creative by McHale's "a hold and a hoop" standards:cool:

If we get knocked out in the 1st round of the playoffs i wouldn't mind seeing a coaching change.

With that said we advance then mchale deserves an extension.

As long as he's not in full-sabatoge mode like he was against Portland in the playoffs, I'm cool. He's been just fine this year.

A team who has a superstar like Harden and the best center in the NBA should at least reach the conference finals

    1. Being able to draw up a play out of a time out (which should've been a prerequisite for someone to get hired as HC in the first place).
    2. With 5 min left, not putting Black in for Howard with a 5 point lead (which had evaporated by the time Howard came back in 1:18 later). If he wanted to give Howard a breather, call a freaking time out if he didn't have anyone better than Black off the bench.
    3. When Arthur was doing a good job switching and guarding Harden on pick-and-rolls, how about letting the other big guarded by Faried set a pick for Harden instead??? Or running Harden off of screens to catch and shoot?
    4. Our first play in OT was to set up a corner 3 for Ariza, instead of going to DMo in the post right away. That was idiotic on several levels: (a) A DMo postup completely preserves Harden and Howard's energy, whereas it usually requires a Harden drive to set up Ariza's corner 3. (b) We had just witnessed two full games of DMo abusing Faried, and Ariza bricking 3s (3-11 on Saturday, 3-10 tonight before he missed this one in OT). (c) McHale, one of the finest low post players of all time, couldn't figure this out.
