Agree that his stuff seems like it has declined. I would choose Harris for the 8th. But I'd be fine with Gregerson on the same level as *current* Devo and Clippard for the 7th, typically. Ideally Devo separates himself a ton from those two, and soon.
So you've watched 5 of his 27 appearances since June 1..at most? Not many games you're watching these days.
The player that deserves a shot is Lazarus Musgrove, he isn't the same pitcher when he is throwing 95-96 instead of 90-91. At some point he deserves a shot to set up Giles.
I'll agree, but have a hard time seeing them go that route. Perhaps if he's still going this well when rosters expand? But still hard to see them making a change this late in the season that results in a young SP as a setup man in the playoffs.
I would agree with you but one thing that sticks in my head was Keith Law saying that the Astros were looking hard before the deadline for a reliever or two that wasn't just effective but had dominant stuff.... and then about a week later Luhnow made a comment about dominant stuff mattering more in the playoffs. The two guys in the pen with dominant stuff is Martes and Musgrove.
