Nah, I’ve been an Astros fan since 1980/81. I didn’t even live in Texas at the time. My dad loved the Reds and Pete Rose. He talked about Joe Morgan and him going back to the Astros. So I paid attention to that team as best I could for a kid living in Indiana and it just stuck. Ironically enough I moved to Houston about a year later. Took me a while to start posting in this forum, but I read almost every post for a very long time. I’ve been a diehard Astros fan literally from day one, never left no matter the lean years. I sincerely love this game and team.
That's beautiful. Two outs. Single, stolen base, 90 more on the error, double, insurance run. Love it.
Jake is the kind of guy that we’ve always seen potential in but has often times been so frustrating to watch (last year especially). So the fact that he’s having a really really good season both in the field and at the plate is so freakin’ awesome to see. Definitely a guy that you can’t help but to root for.
I was literally right in the middle of Reds and Cubs country. Braves were a thing too. Cubs on WGN and also Braves on WTBS were not cable stations in INDY, just regular tv. So I watched a ton of those games. My dad followed Rose to the Phillies. He was not happy I was pulling for the Astros in that playoff series. Weird I never went with what he liked. I’d die if my boys didn’t like the Astros. Sorry for the derail. Let’s finish these guys off.
