Technically, it would be the coach that did it. The Cowboys would only be half (third?) of the equation. If one of them won a championship with two teams, I don't think anyone would look at the accomplishment and attribute it to either team.

If Uncle Bob really and truly wants his fellow owners to respect him, he'll outbid Jones for Cowher. He has the money. And he has something else, unlike Jerry, he won't micromanage everything Cowher does.

Jones or no Jones, there is no higher profile position in all of sports than Cowboy head coach. No one's going to compete with that. They're fricking 5-10 and NBC doesn't even flex them off their line-up.

Cowher hasn't even been rumored to want the Cowboys job. Doubt he would want to work under Jerry Jones.

You're absolutely right, but not every coach wants that. Perhaps Cowher just wants to get paid well, do his job, and be left alone.

Jones will keep JG. It is important to both Cowher and Jones to be the GM of a football team. That means Cowher won't land in Dallas.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Jerry went after Cowher and got him. Garrett isn't a wunderkind and he knows it at this point.

Fisher looks like he's a goner for sure after this trouncing today at the hands of KC. I wouldn't be terribly upset if he replaced Kubiak.

I think if anyone replaces Garrett it'll be Fisher.

Dolphins lost to the Lions today
Giants getting beat bad by the Packers(Danger of missing the playoffs?)
And we know about the Texans

Fire Kubiak before he leaves the locker room and go after Cowher right freaking now.

Leave Kubiak in Denver...don't let him on the plane.

Call the CBS sports studio and ask for Bill Cowher...he may still be there. Fly his ass down here now and take him out for a steak tomorrow night.

Well, NY weather is more like Pittsburgh.

But with Houston, he has an opportunity to turn around the "worst defense in league history." So, does Cowher want the challenge of fixing Houston; or tweaking NY?

Honestly, I'd love Fisher being the HC much moreso than Kubiak

Honestly, it's quite frustrating that I see teams, who have underachieved, starting to make changes like the Dolphins and Niners but maybe the most underachieving of the bunch hasn't made a peep. It appears obvious a new coach is coming but with Uncle Bob, I won't feel optimistic until it happens.

    On Cowher...

@mortreport: And IF any coaches are fired with Dolphins, Giants, Texans, those franchises would top his list. NY tops list; don't think they'd hire him

The niners just fired Singletary after a 5-10 start.

I wish we had the balls to just do that right now as well.

At this point, I think if McNair wants Cowher, he can go out and get him. Between the Dolphins, Giants, and Texans, I've gotta think that the Giants and Texans head the list. The Dolphins QB situation is a complete mess, and I would think Cowher wants an established veteran at the helm of his offense. I don't see the Giants firing Coughlin considering the labor disputes, and the fact that he's earned a little leeway with the Super Bowl win.
