It wouldn't matter that much in terms of the ultimate result. Like I said the Mavericks were simply not good enough last year due to "bad team construction" But in terms of making the Mavericks more watchable and a less depressing team to be around last year? It probably mattered. I don't know if you watched them last year but it was an absolute struggle even on nights when they eked out a victory by having Luka shoot enough FT's in the 4th wo win by 1, which is why they end up pushing the Kyrie panic button ....and then tanking anyway.
