Wow. Loving this young team. Everyone hitless but 2 guys who are on it. Missing the game at a wedding reception. But damn.
Concerns me too. J.D. didn't go into slumps for most of his minor league career, but slumped badly at the end of last year, and then slumped at the end of ST. Makes you concerned that he is slow to adjust to the adjustments pitchers are making to him.
Cardinals fans pissed me off tonight when they started chanting "Let's go Cardinals" in the 6th. Luckily the 'Stros fans were able to overpower them and take back home field. I would expect that from Cubs or Red Sox fans, but I thought StL fans were supposed to be classy?
Houston fans are going to start a confrontation with another team's fans for cheering for their team? LOL!
it's alright, we ended up taking over and the let's go astros was much louder and got the rest of the stadium involved.
Maybe I'm just annoyed by the number of bandwagon StL fans. I guess that's what comes with being champs. Which also means I can't talk **** to them because they can shut me up with three words, "World Series Champions". At least I can exploit the Cubs fan inferiority complex.
You wouldn't start heckling an outspoken Mavs fan at a Rockets game? (assuming you're a Rox fan) I'm not saying I'm about to go punch a dude in the face. Just that the organized "Let's go Cardinals" cheer got on my nerves.
I get where you're coming from, I just don't agree. I've had nothing but love for Cards fans ever since '05 when we knocked them out of the playoffs on our way to the World Series. Our team was celebrating on their field and you could hear the STL fans who stayed behind chanting, "Let's go, Astros!" as we did our victory interviews and celebrating. Again, on their field. STL fans really are the classiest fans in baseball, and I don't begrudge them their championship, especially since it gave Berkman one, too.
I share the same concerns. But nothing is better than going into a slump when the team is still winning for a young player. Hopefully he'll recover into the surge.
I expect fans of a team to cheer for their team no matter where they are. Astros fans did the very same thing in Arlington while the Astros were playing there all the time before Ranger fans started showing up to Ranger games all the time. Nothing classless about rooting for your own team. Not like they were chanting, "Astros suck".
